Congrats to for such good progress. It is so good she's got

the new liver and is really on her road to enjoying life.

Roy Toutant wrote:

is doing very well lately. Her liver

transplant was October 8.

She went back to work part time last week. She has been walking

several

miles a day.

Yesterday was the colonoscopy to monitor for colon cancer. That

went really

well, also no signs of UC right now.

Today was the office visit with the transplant surgeon.

That also went

well.

The surgeon that did her transplant is leaving to go to a new city,

and they

are recruiting a new surgeon. They got 30 applications which

I guess is a

good sign, that doctors want to come to this transplant center.

She still has a really big surgery scar but it is getting a little less

visible.

The liver function tests are still not quite normal but pretty close.

Her blood gets tested weekly.

She is still taking:

1. Prograf

2. Prednisone

3. Cellcept

4. Nystatin

5. Bactrim

6. Pepcid

7. Multivitamin

8. Magnesium

9. Actigall

10. Azulfidine

11. Folic Acid

So we are keeping the pharaceutical industry afloat.

She usually just takes a fist full of about 20 pills and swallows them

all

at once. Someone at her work saw this and almost got sick.

She still has a few side effects of the medication, mainly some hand

trembling and occasional anxiety.

The local transplant olympics team has been talking to her about going

with

them to Florida this summer but I don't think we are going.

Maybe next

year, if she can get her golf game in better shape.

Thanks Roy T.

PS I hope all those waiting will get their call soon.

Roy and ,

So happy to hear it! Ed was surprised that he is taking some of the

same meds that is taking. Except for the anti-rejection drugs.

He thought there would be more. That's great!
