---My husband doesn't have the heart disease you mention. He has

diabetes which has caused the kidney/protein problem.

Will keep your friend in prayer.

Like said yes you can. I count workout days because I want to

keep up my workouts over the summer. Vacation and hot weather have

been known to side track me in the past!

> On the 100 workout challenge......if I do a cardio workout in the

morning then go to the gym in the evening, can I count that as two

workouts? I would think so but I don't want to cheat! LOL!!

Re: Question

I agree 100% Sharon. After I had Chloe and was complaining to the doctor about the pain in my legs and back, he prescribed Flexaril (cyclobenzaprine) Number 1 it did nothing for the pain but knocked me out enough so that I didn't feel anything. After MS, I was diagnosed with muscle spasms and was given Baclofen. At one point I was up to 4 10mg pills a day. Now I only take 2 and that seems to do the trick. I feel alot more limber, the muscles don't seem as tight or stiff, and I can walk with little difficulty most days.

Is the other medication you are talking Gabadril(sp)? My father was taken of Neurontin and put on Gabadril for his sever almost convulsion like spasms with very good effect.

Hi :

Most MSers have to be careful with Bengay or stuff like that. Sometimes the heat it gives the muscles is enough to cause us some problems. Remember MSers are affected by hot showers, etc? Other times the nerve issues we already have will escalate wildly by using Bengay. I have successfully used a product called Sombra. It's a natural product made in New Mexico. The physical therapist I went to used it and sold it in his office.

So you are having muscle cramps then? Muscle relaxers aren't always the best thing for MS-Muscle Cramps. With MSers what they are experiencing is usually muscle spasms and spasticity. Do you take Neurontin or Baclofen? There's another popular one and I can't think of the name of it right now.

Hi group!

Do any of you use a cream (i.e Bengay) to help with muscle cramps or spasms? I cannot always be taking the muscle relaxers, otherwise I will sounds a sleep on my desk at work!

Thanks so much.

Hi

I gather from your post that you have take baclofen in the past. I will admit I was a bit reluctant at first about taking it because I had heard it can cause drowsiness. With me tho that was shortlived as was the headache. Maybe if that is not an option for you, the GP or neuro can prescribe neurontin or gabadril. I hope you find something to help.

Good morning all.

I have been in pain the last few days, so haven't been posting much.

My arms and hands are killing me. I can hardly use my hands for

anything. They ache and feel " cramped " . This morning I woke up to a

painful lump on my left forearm. It feels about the size of a quarter

and very sore. I pushed on it and it seemed to " pop " back into place.

I can still feel it, but it's not as big anymore. Anyone experience

this? Is it a tendon, a muscle? I haven't done anything to injure my

arm. Could it be MS related or something else? Go figure, I actually

have a sx that a Dr. can " see " and it's the day before Thanksgiving,

so I can't go in. No more typing for me. These stinking hands just

won't work. :( TIA, Trista

Yes, I have experienced it both in my arms and legs. The ER docs did

and ultrasound and diagnosed it as superficial thrombophlebitis.

Superficial level blood clots in the extremities. I was put on 650 mg

a day asperin and after a week the lump and pain from the lump was

come, but the muscle pain, associated with the MS (we assume) was still

there.
