Guest guest
That's true! When the drs would come in I would get on webmd and ask all kinds of interesting questions. My son was so funny. He would say, " Mom, are you allowed to do that? You're intimidating these drs with your computer. "  I would tell him that was not my concern. My only concern was that no one would make a mistake with dad, and they didn't. LOL  Jackie > > hey what hospitalis kevin at?i just hadmy transplant a few days ago and i > amat s Hopkins Hosp in bALT md > > > > > We got the call at 4 am. Guest guest
Your son has a valid point there. I did that( ask a question while in the hospital with my laptop open to web MD) and the nex time I sought treatment in the ER, they wrote in my record " the patient has a habit of looking up a condition on the internet and then later claiming to have the symptoms of said condition " . In other words, they have made veiled accusations of my having munchausen syndrome. Guest guest
I didn't have any problems like that. They welcomed the idea of my learning all I could so I could help . We had a wonderful family dr when our twins were born (28 yrs ago). He used to leave the chart open so I could read it and ask questions, and he would tell me all about the condition I was asking about. When the twins were born they didn't look alike and yet he told me they were identical twins. I asked him " how can that be? they don't look alike. "  He was so excited about " his twins " because in all his years of delivering babies they were only the 2nd set of twins he delivered. He told me all about how they determine whether twins are identical or fraternal. They measure the depth of the placenta. If it's 4cm thick it's two placentas that have merged into one, which means there were 2 eggs which equals fraternal twins. If it's 2cm thick it's one placenta that came from a single egg, which means identical twins. Theirs was 2cm thick, and sure enough, 28 years later, no one can tell them apart except their dad and I. LOL Jackie > > hey what hospitalis kevin at?i just hadmy transplant a few days ago and i > amat s Hopkins Hosp in bALT md > > > > > We got the call at 4 am.
