Larry,Phil & Peg,

They got the stones out when they operated last friday.

Yes i get social welfare .£73.50.

This equals $95 US approx per week , single man allowance.I am at home with parents.

This entitles me to a medical card which means i have FREE medical/dental/ drug perscription cover.

So i pay for nothing .

I was entitled to 10 weeks sick pay then that ran out so i am on social welfare.

I am still employed but on long term sick.Disability benefit.

The interview has been changed to friday the 11th of Feb.

If this works out it will mean an admin job on the same pay as an electrician.

Then nobody could complain about me being moved in to a job over their head etc.

And believe me they would scream. Its my tough luck if i am sick or am about to get sick but do not put me in anybodys promotional path etc.

So if i am sucessfull i will have got the job re interview and my own merits etc and thats a big if.

As i said before there is massive resistance in moving from manual/technical to admin.

My job is servant grade, and the admin job is deemed to be officer grade, stone age stuff.

When i go back to some sort of job i will loose the medical card.

This means i have to pay , but nothing like private medical cover.

I get charged $32.5 per day in hospital up to a max of $650 per year, after that you get most back in tax.

Then $52 per month max for all drugs.

I will be in the same wards in the hospitals as when i was on the medical card ie Public wards.

We have the same surgeons as private patients , but the ques are alot longer.

PSC means a tx , and thats based on how sick you are and not how much money you have in the bank.

Elective surgery is totally different.

The prof i am under is based in the national hep centre , and the tx centre is also the national tx centre.

Remember there is only 3.5 million of us over here, about the size of some of your cities in the states.

I rang up today to check about getting this 2 foot stent out , and guess what, they had me listed for some time in march under a wrong doctor.

And not next week?

Thats what you get when dealing with office workers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regards
