Guest guest
, Congratulations on you and spouses winnings. Just as I honor and cherish each of my racing medals/trophies regardless of the number of competitors, I think you deserve each and every one you receive. Before you jump into the next phase of training, take a moment to appreciate your hard work and achievements! Way to go!! Kelley Try'n something new even though BFL rocks! Guest guest
, I am........I took the morning off. LOL Told Hubby it was a 3 day weekend for me. I forgot my sis was there and took a couple of pix from the audience. I will try and get them posted later today. I meant I took the morning off of a workout. Don't worry, I'll get back at it again tomorrow. Another show in 3 weeks, so can't sluff off too much. Z. Re: show's over , Congratulations on you and spouses winnings. Guest guest
, I am happy you went for it, and even happier you did so well. Yeah. as for keeping the camera handy. I'm not sure you could hide the camera under one of those cocktail napkins or string, so I understand the hesitation. Someday, I'll be looking for your next round of photos. In the meantime, be sure to savor the flavor of your recent victories, congrats! Now. Let's take you comment on the win and tune that up, just a bit. The reason you were the only entry in your class is that the others thinking about also joining likely saw you and said to themselves. " NO WAY can we top that. Why bother wasting our entrance fees and embarrassing ourselves. " And then, they all backed away to let you properly earn your crown. I think BFL'ers need to always view the brighter picture which is often times available if you see the same event from different angles. Especially when a " win " is involved! Oh, also. As an FYI, I remember reading in an article authored by Tom Venuto, an all natural fitness advocate, about his own behaviors in adjusting the fat down before competitions, but, maintaining 50% or more than his competition fat of ~6% during off months. This helps him fuel the body and allows for safer lower target rates during intense training for the shows. I'm not suggesting you start eating pepperoni pizzas 6x a day, but, just thought you might want to look for more info from Tom since you two are the only " real people " I know that are also in that category. Here I sit, stalled at a TBF well above 15%, providing you instructional feedback. It is tanning goop that is in a spray bottle. We put on 3 coats. I was told that for a competition, " you can never be too tan " . So, 3 coats does pretty good for the both of us. How did we do.............weeeelllll..............I was the only one in the " old wimmen's class " . LOL So, got first, a nice goody bag of stuff, and a trophy. Missed the lightweight limit by 4 lousy pounds, which was a good thing, as there would have been 7 of us in that class. Only 1 in heavyweight, so with me it made 2. She beat me, but I guess I didn't deserve to win. Didn't need another goody bag anyway, would have made me look hogish. :>) No pix from this show, the guy taking them I thought his prices were ungodly high. Spouse forgot to take his camera, and I didn't really want to take mine, as it would have been a big loss if it would have gotten ripped off..........a Canon SLR digital. But, there will be a very reasonably priced photog at the next show on Nov. 11th, and we will get pix taken there. So, everyone, don't get excited, I'll have some from that one. I don't think we will have them that night like the previous guy d! id. I think he took them to Walgreens and had them developed, as we got the pix that night at the evening show. I was a bit apprehensive about this show, as I didn't think I was really ready mentally for it, due to all the crap me and Spouse were having to deal with on a farm level, but it went fine. So, just need to work harder so maybe one of these days I can actually beat someone that is in the class with me. Spouse got 1st in the Grandmaster men, there was another guy in the class, but there was no question as to who was going to place 1st. So, Spouse got a goody bag too. There were 3 in his lightweight men, and he took 3rd. Like me, he didn't deserve any higher. Guess we both need to work harder. Leg day tomorrow..............my least favorite, but I will do it. Z. Guest guest
, it's at the Belvidere HS Performing Arts Center. The pre-judging is at 12:30 and the evening show (where the posing routines to music are done) and winners announced is at 7 pm. Sat. Nov. 11th. Need any more info? Oh, crap.............the sheet with the admission prices is the entry form and I just sent it in today. Evening show is pretty pricey, I think about $25.00. I don't know why it is so much.........might get alot more spectators if it was a little more reasonable in price. But, they didn't ask me, so........... Hope you can make it.........would love to meet you!! Z. Re: show's over > > > , > > Congrats on your hard work and trophy! I admire you guys so much. Guest guest
Sorry, we aren't that proficient yet. It takes a lot of flowering plants and good honey flow to do honey comb. In northern Illinois honey flow was really off this year. Perhaps next year! I do have over 150 lbs of raw honey for anyone looking for some. Bee keeping is fun! Quoting " Mr. Frazier " : > Honey???
