Hi there,

I'm with you. I always think people are RUDE and not well raised when e.g.

eating chips without closing their mouth before crunching down. Maybe because I

was raised to eat quietly by my, possibly 4S, but v strict father - this fits

with your theory of how we relate to sounds.

On the other hand, I also fit with the shades of ASD thing. I am not social and

usually aim to be alone. I don't find " rules " of social engagement intuitive,

although I have found the ability to learn them and get by in life.

anyway) relate to others and the sounds are secondary. I say this only because I

often find myself after being annoyed by a noise saying " they are so RUDE! "

that is not tue. If anything I'm the opposite. I am painfully aware of the

proper social rules and etiquette and read people quite well and am very social

and go out of my way to make people feel comfortable. But when people are rude I

get very upset and go out of my way to protect people from rudeness. I can't

help but wonder if there is a correlation or just coincidence.
