Guest guest
Kathy- I also note these types of headaches. Not on a regular basis, but it is one of 2 odd symptoms that took me on my search to find out what was up (just dont think its normal to walk around with headaches like these). I describe them as suddenly feeling like a vice grip is clamped on my head (the upper 1/2 of the head on each side) its not pain in the face (like migraines would be) but a feeling right inside the skull. Both sides seem to throb with pressure when they hit (not like it just hits in one little spot) and I DO grab my head to try and ease the pressure (or stop it from getting worse!). The intenseness seems to go away after a couple minutes, but often a dull head pain will linger for a couple hours. Mine are hit or miss. Since Aug I havent noticed much of anything, but then last weekend I went out on a dance floor to dance at a wedding and as soon as I started moving to the beat, my head SLAMMED with a killer pressure (HUGE vice grip action) and there I was dancing while holding onto my head. I had had several beers that evening (something Ive noted - alchohol seems to bring them on more). 2 nights ago I took the stairs 2-3 at a time running up, as my kids were fighting and as soon as I hit the top my head got hit with a nice pressure headache. Lingered rest of evening. Last night we had a few dacquiris (honest I DONT drink much!!) and I also had taken 2 motrin - 1/2 hr after the last drink got major pressure vice/grip action again..... sleep takes it away. Other times when Ive gotten instant pressure pain like this (but where it doesnt linger but for a few mins) is definitely when i move my head too quickly (looking up quick - or bending down to get something) Ive been learning to move slower or bend my whole body low to get something instead of it just being my head. I have a question for all - WHY from movement?? DOES the spinal fluid somehow get affected when you move your head quick side/side or from bending etc?? or is it from blood flow? DOES it make sense that alchohol would intensify or make worse this type of thing???
