Guest guest
I just had my second patient pass out at the wheel! Both elderly. One with COPD. Cardiac work ups have been negative by hospital. The second patient had both his DM and all of his BP meds stopped! He had been put on Actos by endocrinology 6 days previous and seen me 3 days previous with BP 132/80. He was told he was dehydrated but it didn't contribute to his low BP at the hospital! Now I have to clear him to drive! The first patient was cleared 6 months ago to drive. Then involved in a 2nd accident for which the other driver was ticketed but my patient died after 9 weeks of complications I have not been in the habit of pulling a liscense for a single episode of syncope after cardiac clearance. But I sure could use some input as to what to use as guidelines. Thanks.
Guest guest
In California, the DMV re-instates the pt after they test them, we just do the reporting. Forms are available online. We fill them out and DMV takes care of the rest (not 100% sure about that last step) I just had my second patient pass out at the wheel! Both elderly. One with COPD.
