Guest guest
Sunshine, I have heard many reports of people sleep walking and even sleep driving while on Ambien. As for pain, I have never heard of Norco, but I take 10 mg of Vicodin 4 times a day for my herniated back disc pain, which also covers the pain of the fibro. Many doctors are hesitant to prescribe such a narcotic, fearing addiction, but for me it's either Vicodin or morphine to help the pain. Ironically I am also supposed to be doing exercises too, which would help in the long run, but it is so hard when you're in chronic pain, as many people on this list could attest to. Good luck in getting your meds straightened out. >Sunshine wrote: Well, then they gave me ambien to help me sleep again since it had been about 11 days with no sleep from the pain. Well, I dont know what it was but something made me sleep walk and I got in my car and drove and accidently hit a door of my friends store. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the input, i actually drove that night and dont remember a damn thing because i was sleep walking. Well, guess what?????? I ran into a stores front door with my car. I got taken to jail to take a breathalizer test, and when I passed they called the special drug team, they arrested me for prescription drugs. I had only taken what was in my iv that day and my ambien. I actually had not been able to hold my pain meds down because of the infection in my stomach so I didnt have any Narcotics in my system. I was gonna let you know about Norco. It is hydrocodone 10mg/ 325 or tylenol. But its not working anymore. I am so glad you brought up the driving thing. I wonder how I could proove these side effects? Hugs Sunshine >Medicated Drama Queen wrote: I have heard many reports of people sleep walking and even sleep driving while on Ambien. Guest guest
Bingo!!!!!!!! The first time I took ambian I fell in the bathtub backwards. Thank God I had a liner and the shower curtain to break the fall. I know it's the ambian. My reaction was so similiar. I don't think it's the cymbalta. Take that also and never had a reaction like I did with the ambian. Be careful! No experience with norco. hugs to you, donna

Sunshine - You need an attorney, and right away. If you do not already have one, call your auto insurance agent. Explain what happened to your agent, and ask them to provide you with an attorney to handle your case. Insurance companies keep attorneys on staff for their clients involved in auto accidents (to help reduce the costs of their claims.) If they will do so, it will be totally free to you, and they will represent you in court and handle getting all the documentation from your doctor, etc. If they refuse to do so, get on the phone, pony up the cash and get one on your own. A competent DUI attorney should be knowledgeable about the issues involved. Different states have different laws about what constitutes " impaired " driving. In some states, as long as you are taking legal medications under a doctor's supervision as correctly prescribed, you cannot be charged as " impaired. " In other states, you can be considered " impaired " if you cause an accident under the influence of prescription medications. You need someone who knows the laws in your state and can represent you. Don't try to do this on your own. I'm soooo sorry this happened to you. Your doctor and/or pharmacist should have warned you about the risks involved with Ambien. Sleepwalking is very common with this medication. I know it's not a good time to lecture you, and hindsight's 20-20 and all that, but it's an opportunity to learn that information is power - read the patient information that comes with any new drug! These warnings are all over this medication. If you live with someone, they needed to be told to keep an eye on you for the first few nights you were trying it. If you live alone, if you had only known about the potential problems, you could have made arrangements to have a friend stay over to check on you for a couple of nights. It's that serious. These are strong medications, all of them, and unfortunately we can't trust our doctors and pharmacists to always know what's right. We have to be our own advocates, and do our own research to avoid interactions and side effects. I'm just very relieved that you weren't hurt, and that you didn't hurt someone else. I hope you are able to resolve the legal issues easily. It's not your fault. You certainly don't need all this stress on top of everything else! Start with your insurance agent and ask about help with legal representation. You might be surprised how much help they can be. The fact that there was an accident with the car might be the saving factor - it will let them get involved in representing you! Good luck and take care of yourself, sweetie! Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Wanted to thank everyone who posted in regards to this topic. All posts are greatly appreciated. I go to court today for an arainment (spelling?) I will be given a court appointed attorney, but I am thinking they are going to put me in jail until my next court date. I am totally freaking out. I went to my doctors this morning to get a letter he was supposed to write on my behalf that i had been in his office all day with IV fluids given to me, etc. it I was arrested just about two hours after leaving there. He had also prescribed a few ambien on top of what they gave me in the office. I was also given phenagrin which I am apparently allergic to. I had not taken any of my norco for pain that day and had not taken any xanex for a few days, which means i had NO narcotic meds in my system. I tried to do research on ambien and the side effects, didnt have any luck with finding a web site that would be to my benefit saying ambiem DOES cause sleep walking. And i didnt get a letter from the doc today because his son was killed over the weekend. My doctor is out for awhile. Please keep me in your prayers.
