Guest guest
Hello, I am on MTX 15mg by injection and Embrel. Three days ago my knee started swelling, its a strange because it has this big lump behind the knee. It hurts when I try to move it. It has also been giving out on me. It is quite painful. I have no clue what my Rheummy doc is going to do. I so sick of this disease. Just has you think things are getting better they get worst. Any Ideas or suggestions? Guest guest
Sorry that your knee is swollen and painful, Toni. It sounds a lot like a popliteal (Baker's) cyst. They are very common in people with RA. Your rheumatologist will have to take a look and see if that's what it is first and then recommend the appropriate treatment. Here is some info on popliteal cysts: " Popliteal Cysts " by Dr. Philippe Bourdila: http://www.genou.com/anglais/poplitealcyst/poplitealcyst.htm " Baker's Cyst (Popliteal Cyst), " from the University of Washington http://uwcme.org/courses/rheumatology/knee/bakers.html " Baker's cyst in rheumatoid arthritis: an ultrasonographic study with a high resolution technique " : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & dopt=Abstra\ ct & list_uids=96127310 [ ] Knee pain > Hello, > > I am on MTX 15mg by injection and Embrel. Guest guest
Heidi,I do have knee pain quite a bit. Sometimes when I walk it feels like my knees are going to go out, and sometimes they do. When I stand on them they feel really weak. Also, I fall quite a bit now, I think it is old Arthur for me. Also, when I try to do stretches, and exercise a little my knees are swollen for days. You be careful until you get in to see your doctor. It might help a bit to use a stroller for Fabien, if you don't already. That would scare me if I had to carry a baby, I don't trust myself. It's hard for me to hold anything for long because of my hands. I will keep you in my prayers dear one, take care Tawny --- In , " n & Heidi " <octone@i...> wrote: > Hi there everyone! > I've been having a problem with my knee for about 2 months now. This happens at least 10 times a day. I also have an intense pain at the back of my knee sometimes but it goes away and then I'll feel perfect. My big worry is that sometimes it happens when I'm carrying Fabien and I'm scared I'll drop from the pain with him in my arms one day! > Has anyone had anything similar and found out what caused it? My Rheumy is away and I can only see her at the end of April - just wanted to check if anyone else has had a similar problem. > Hugs, > Heidi > > >
