Amazing nowadays with more and more pain management Dr's out there that a

nurse would call you an addict, An addict uses stuff to get high, we use

narcotics just to function. No wonder you are pissed, I would be too.

PFD's for all,

Ooooo, Jess, that is SO infuriating!!! I hope you took advantage of

the opportunity to put her straight and educate her!! I'm sorry you

had to go through that.

I had a similar situation with the nurse at a hand orthopedist I was

seeing when I injured my wrist. I told her what meds I was on, and

she was SHOCKED - and said " That's a LOT of narcotics. " Actually it

isn't " a lot " at all - at the time I was only taking 20 mg of

oxycontin three times a day. I told her that that wasn't much at all

for severe chronic pain, that the dosage levels can be much higher

than that, and there are much stronger drugs out there as well, but

she wouldn't believe me. She thought she knew better, but she

obviously didn't have a clue. At least she didn't call me an addict

to my face.

you said it eric. around here, ;pill use runs rampant. for instance, one day i

was in the dr. for a pinched nerve in my neck, which was running down my

arm.{this ws before i found my dr.now}

anyway the clinc had diagnosed me with a pulled muscle and going next door to

the pharmacey with my ultram prescription i was pretty much aggravated to start

with.

i was in so much pain, crying, and etc. when the pharmacist saw the

prescription,{he is a customer of mine} he laughed. he has had back surgery and

neck surgery.

he filled my scrip, and me knowing it wasnt going to help. next to me at the

counter was a guy who was abiviously high getting his " meds " . i watched the

pharmacist put them in the bad. lortab 10, darvacet, xanax, and methocodone. i

wanted to smack him. my friend looked at me and said, well thats why you have to

suffer.

you know it makes me sick the way things are but i dont see anything changing.

people who need meds are frowned upon, when they are trying to work and function

with pain. people who dont need them and wouldnt work if they could, get

anything they want and then abuse them or sell them.

anyway sorry so long it just flies all over me, when this happens. connie
