Guest guest
Hi everyone! I got home from the hospital today after surgery on Friday. My doctor said everything went well, but there are no gaurantees that it will be sucessful. What he did was locate and remove a neuroma on the saphenous nerve, and then cut the nerve and drill a small hole in the tibia and buried the nerve in the hole. This is supposed to " rewire " the nerve and help the pain. He has done many of these and has had a good success rate for RSD patients. I guess we shall wait and see. Thank you all for all of your concern and kind words last week, and being new to the group, it meant alot to me. I hope every one has had a nice weekend. Guest guest
Hi Jai, Glad to hear that you're home from the hospital and that the surgery went well. Hopefully, the procedure will be successful. Quite honestly, I've never heard of " burying " the nerve, but it makes sense to me. Try and relax, and get yourself well! Hugs, Jo

Guest guest
Jai, Glad your surgery is over and you are back home. It's so nice to get back home isn't it? I'm sure the doctor sounded like he knew what he was doing and you are well on your way to recuperate. Felice
Guest guest
Hi Jai Welcome Home and hope you are doing good now. I have heard oof the operation you have had and some people are luck and like anything else there not. But they do these at Cleveland Clinic too. There's a program for RSD there, but me being 4+ it wont help me. I am going into the hospital next Tues. for a Total Shoulder Replacement and I have to go in the nigh before so they can put a CVP line or another IV line in the femora vein as I have ran out of veins in normal places along time ago:( They can come up with odd place's, but that is our life line in OR.and for pain med's after. He (Dr, Lema)said he probably would send me home with a PCA Pump. He said he is going to have to give me more than the normal person because oof my tolerance to narcotics and also you need a lot with this type or Surgery. Honey I wish you luck in your recovery and hope things go as planned. They will I just feel it. Hug's Debi T./4+)))
