Guest guest
No offense to anyone on this group, but I think it may be beyond anyone in this group's capabilities to tailor a weight training program to you. If you are interested in someone with a BFL background, but willing to tailor the program based on your individual needs and background, I suggest contacting a personal trainer which will take into account your individual needs. Remember a lot of success with this program is the nutrition. No matter what you do, you will need to watch your portion sizes and be consistent. Good luck. Guest guest
Andy, I agree. We were told when we began our fitness " journey " that our diet was 80% of the success (or not) of the program, any program, we did. Z. Guest guest
, Andy has an excellent point. Many of the questions and concerns for which you seek specific answers may be more appropriately addressed to a personal trainer, than a mentor. As a mentor, I can offer support, some clarity on BFL issues and a bit of motivation. Having had several screw-ups along the way I can even offer some assistance in areas of murky waters that I may have already tread, but, to develop a complete nutrition and exercise program that is outside the scope of what I know and have done with BFL may be well beyond my capabilities. As my time constraints for this morning ease up a little, I'll try to provide some feedback, but, " caveat emptor " ! .I'm a technical kind of financial guy, but have even been know to play doctor, layer, therapist, marketing director, car salesman & more. :-) Now for the real work ahead. Guest guest
For some unknown reason my post to Andy last night did not appear. I HAVE A TRAINER WHO IS CERTIFIED AND A PHYSICAL THERAPIST......I DO NOT NEED YOU GUYS TO BUILD MY LIFTING PROGRAM!!!! I just want help / support on the nutrition. > > , > > > > Andy has an excellent point (not really). Guest guest
, Ah hah! Why didn’t just VERY specifically ask this of us eons ago. It would have save me a weekend of time responding to you. …Sheeze!!! Unless you have special nutritional requirements to offset your other medical issues, turn to page 83 in your BFL book. In fact, make a copy of the page and post it at or near to your refrigerator. High protein balanced with carbs, meals spread over 6 feedings, limit on fats, particularly saturated fats, portion sizes of palm / fist for protein & carb, free day on Sunday (or some other day of your choice). Plan for good fiber as part of your carbs and you have it. As noted earlier, 2 pounds per week is a 1,000 calorie per day deficit. Rearranging a few meals, without sacrificing quantities, may be all that is needed to make up that deficit. The trick will be finding your basic resting metabolic burn rate, now, but BFL successfully suggests the palm / fist portions as a guide and it works for most people. (It did for me for the first 9 months or so.) Post your planned meals and I am sure you can get MANY of us to respond as to it’s appropriateness. Happy & good eating! - - - - - Holowko, CPA, CCP PO Box 444 Lafayette Hill, PA 19444-0444 - - - - - Telephone: - - - - - E-mailto:gholowko@... - - - - - Remember...
