Guest guest
Well, it is great that some can do with such little medication. It does somehow make me feel less of a fighter than you because I need and take oxycontin and hydro. I am happy for you and jealous too. I just hope you are not knocking the ones that need and still taker oxycontin. Are you? Please I am not trying to start am argument here, I am simply asking a question. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, Well I haven't talked with you in a while! I can't wait for you to get out on your own finally. I am responding to the medicine post. I finally found a regime that allows me to have the quality of life that was lacking prior to being prescribed the medications I am on. I never asked for an increase my doctors just try to make their patients as comfortable as possible. They have learned that the body will not be come dependent on the medication, because it is directing the medication to the pain. It is not something I enjoy doing, by that of course I mean taking all the pills I do. It took me a long time to accept that I needed to take them. Along with taking the oxycontin, lortabs, neurontin, Ketamin gel, I also go to physical therapy, psycho therapy and do my yoga and breathing all when it is appropriate. It is not easy to do self hypnosis and drive a car! Lol If they find a cure as I have said before, we can all go to a nice rehab together. I am not worried about any of the medications I am taking, expect maybe the Lortabs, because of the acetaminophen. This type of hydrocodone has the least though, so that is my two cents again about medication and rsd. Everyone has it to different degrees, hence the difference in the amount of pain the medication eats up. If the pain didn't eat the medicine up I would never be coherent! Hugs and a pain free minute, Deb p.s did you vote for the poll I made? It is still open, please take a minute all! Thanks!
Guest guest
I wish my doctor would give me something stonger and then take thenorco for break through....But I really don't like to be strung out either, Deep breathing andrelaxation helps to a point and I try anything that helps stop thepain with out injesting a bunch of medicine.Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't so like most of you Ilay and suffer, just like the last few days.Carolyn

Guest guest
Hi , If you were asking me this question, I hope that everyone here will tell you that I would never knock anyone for taking the meds they need to. Every one of us is different. I admit that I am stronger than most, I have a great deal of will power and self-control (with some things). Does that make me different somehow, or special? Not really. I know what I can live with, I have to work, I have to be able to function daily, and I simply could not do that with all the meds I was on. I was still in pain, even with the meds. I'm not a martyr either. I don't expect anyone to be impressed by what I " m doing. I don't think that anyone who is taking meds and feeling better should stop doing that. I'm for whatever works for you. I wasn't feeling much better, so the meds weren't working in any sense for me. I have bad days. Really bad days, but I had those while on the meds, too, so I try not to blame the lack of meds. I'm fairly certain that there will come a time when I need to return to the meds. I'm not unrealistic. When the time comes, that's what I'll do, and not feel like I've taken a step back. I was not ashamed that I had to take meds, it is something that needs to be done, as is the case in any other chronic illness, such as heart disease or diabetes. Thank God for modern medicine, it allows us all to live our lives. I hope that I've been able to express that I know how terrible this monster is, and that I believe deep down that everyone needs to fight their own battles, with whatever resources they can find. Hugs, Jo
