Guest guest
I get this feeling from time to time. However, for myself, I don't think Tethered Cord is responsible for it. But maybe it can be for some, not for sure, though. Me Nebraska, USA mymocha@... > Does anyone ever get a tingling feeling in their head as a result of this > condition. Guest guest
Just start eating separately and at different times. It might make you feel guilty or otherwise bad, but that's probably the best way to keep your sanity and your anger levels down.= M-F.> To: Soundsensitivity > Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 20:56:46 +0000> Subject: Question> > So this is my problem......I live with my fiancee and our 17 month old daughter. Whenever he chews or swallows or just walks around, it annoys the heck out of me. I am seeing a pychiatrist and it doesn't really do anything. I was on an anti-depressant and that didn't do anything. It's like, just he annoys me and his mom. I don't know why his mom annoys me since she lives 3 hours away and we don't see her often. When other people though chew or swallow a drink it doesn't bother me, just my fiancee and his mom. I just can't stand it! I don't know how to get it to n ot bother me anymore. Guest guest
We have trigger sounds ... and also trigger persons: the people who super-bug us when they chew or make whatever other noises that enrage us. The trigger person is usually a close relation or relationship: i.e. usually parent, partner, sibling. I started with my father when I was 12. He is no longer alive, and so no longer a trigger person, but my wife is my trigger person now! Her eating, tooth-brushing, etc all send me over the top. Sadly, this is normal for 4S, it seems. 4S is not just a general social handicap, it is specifically a handicap in long-term relationships like marriage or living together. That said, I have been married since 1983 and have two teenage daughters, and I have no desire to change this (well, other than my daughters growing out of their teenage years!) Mind you, I am now THE trigger person for one of my daughters. Sigh. She doesn't react to eating sounds, but to sniffing, scraping, etc. We try very hard to remember never to sniff around her. This is even hard for me as a person with 4S, as sniffing is not one of my trigger sounds. > > When other people though chew or swallow a drink it doesn't bother me, just my fiancee and his mom. Guest guest
Ian, Wow what you describe sounds a lot like what i'm going through now. It does seem like my fiancee is the trigger person. It seems like everything he does annoys me. How does your wife cope with it? Even when he clears his throat. Just the sound of it is just irritating. Especially when he's in the kitchen just putting dishes away or doing anything in the kitchen, annoys the heck out of me. Are you on any meds at all? I just feel like my anxiety level goes up when he does this. My psychologist even doesn't understand it. I don't want to eat in a different room as him because we all eat as a family usually. That's just the way we do things. So do you think your daughter learned it from you about the noises? Or is it heretitary? > > > > When other people though chew or swallow a drink it doesn't bother me, just my fiancee and his mom. >
