Guest guest
I can totally relate to what you went through in high school. I was pretty much always a loner at least partially due to this problem. Chip crunching and gum smacking are enough to send me completely over the edge. Is there no way you can get up and take a 10-15 minute break and walk around? Or wear a pair of headphones? I'm sure if you talked to your boss, or someone in HR, they would try to help. Depends of course on where you work. - > > Somebody picked up lunch at a Mexican restaurant and there is a HUGE bag of tortilla chips. Now everyone in my office is standing around crunching these chips and talking with their mouths full. I am almost in tears and it's taking everything in me to keep from walking out. It's like lightning shooting through my body every time I hear that damned CRUNCH!!! > > I hate this freaking condition. It seems like they are all deliberately chomping on these things as loud as possible just to piss me off. And I know they are NOT doing that. They are just a bunch of people eating chips, not out on some personal agenda to make me crazy. Why must we suffer like this? > > I read a message from someone else who said at their college they were able to take tests in a quiet room. I wish I had that back in high school. Everyone cracked gum during class. I remember taking a calculus exam while a girl cracked non stop next to me during the entire test. I was ready to explode but didn't feel like I could say or do anything because I was young and very timid, and this girl was a big nasty gangbanger chick. (I went to Chicago public schools where the kids were pretty tough) My whole 4 years was spent wanting to just die having to listen to non stop gum cracking. I can't even THINK about gum cracking without getting upset. > > I'm just glad this group is getting larger and this condition is starting to be taken seriously. I truly hope one day they figure out what it is and why we have it... and find a CURE! > > Again, thanks for listening and letting me vent!!!! >
