Guest guest Posted August 6, 2001 Report Share Posted August 6, 2001 If I had to choose in my ethnic foods I pick Mexican. I can eat two enchaladas (sp) and a couple spoons of beans and do well. I find that chicken and broccoli raise my sugars too high but beef and broccoli puts them in the high range as well so I shy away from it. (didn't want to give up my Friday lunch date with my husband). After eating, I did lots of walking in the mall, then grocery store. It was about 3 hrs later when I got home. I, too, went to a buffet Saturday. Mine was a Chinese one. I had a small salad (lettuce, tomato, & cucumber with dressing), about 5-6 pieces of BBQ pork, (you know, the kind you dunk in hot mustard and sesame seeds, not the kind that is dripping in BBQ sauce), plain chicken pieces, beef and brocolli dish which I scraped what sauce there was off the beef, and green long beans. Oh, and Chicken on a stick. I think it is marinated but I'm not sure. This proves we don't have to give up all the good food. Just limit the amount we eat. I don't know about anyone else, but since I have started eating smaller portions, all food taste so much better.
