Guest guest
Arlene: This e-mail was recently forwarded to me and I thought it may be a goodopportunity to provide some clarification. Although I am not familiar withthe "shocking statements" from an e-mail referenced by the writer, it istrue that any new funding to serve people on the waiting list will resultin increased payments to service providers (obviously if we serve newpeople, we will spend more money to serve more people). While we arehopeful the Florida Legislature will adopt the Bush/Jennings budgetrecommendations for over $146 million to serve individuals currently on thewaiting list, the final outcome of the Legislative session is not yetknown. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if I can assistfurther. **********************************************************This was sent to FVMR & is being forwarded to the members: Dear Readers: My name is Fred Eisinger, and I am the executive director of SeagullIndustries for the Disabled in Palm Beach County. During the past week orso the FVMR has emailed me two shocking statements. The first one - Brantley questioning why agencies don't understand that in the end theywill get all the money that is coming to them - they just have to servemore people to get there. Words fail me regarding this statement. Now,today, we have news that we can make a substantial reduction in the waitinglist and then we can really take a look at the quality of services. Nomention that this is all done on the backs of the non-profits. Retirementnever looked so good. With regret!E-mail: eisinger@...
