Guest guest
Dearest Group Today I began a New Challenge. We will call this Challenge 6. Today should have been C5W11D1...however, I have taken virtually two weeks off from exercise and spent at least one full week of that time eating " holiday style " . Good news and bad news there. Last year at this time I had abandoned BFL since March and regained the weight and more. This year I have continued exercising and working the program throughout the year with occasional short vacations...always returning ready to go. I kept off 6.5 pounds of the 16.5 that I lost this year. (My body's mind prefers weighing 144.5...it's the strangest thing.) And I feel confident that the 4 pounds gained over the holidays will disappear easily. I have definitely regained body fat that is unwelcome, and at age 45 I am reaffirming a commitment made to myself to reduce my body fat to 20%. (18 would be superb but I don't think I am ready to make the sacrifices needed for me to make that accomplishment). I think for the most part I look pretty close to how I want to look. However...about that tummy pooch...a definite problem. I could really use help there. The muscles are pretty strong, although they can stand some further improvement. It's just that Jell-O fat stuff that has stubbornly locked into that area, along with the love handles to match. So, without further ado, here are my goals for this year, and this challenge. Goals 2004 1. To complete 3 solid BFL challenges, in which I see new results with each one. 2. To create better balance in my life between work, play, family, relationships, money, community and God. 3. To enjoy life more, and give more sincerely of myself to life and others. 4. To reduce my debt by at least 25%. 5. To tell those I love that I love them more often. Challenge 6 Goals 1. Get back to the basics...drink 72 oz of water every day (sorry about that, bladder). 2. To learn and utilize at least one new exercise in each muscle group. 3. To use the new rowing machine at our gym. 4. To reduce my body fat to at 22%. 5. To complete another four week round of Ab Boot Camp at the end of this challenge. 6. To purchase Eating For Life and learn one new recipe per week. 7. TAKE MY VITAMINS 2 TIMES EVERY DAY. (This one is so important folks) 8. To have a 27 inch waist (this one scares me =-O 9. To post an after photo to the yahoo BFL website. OK, that's about it. Did I forget anything obvious? Thanks for all of your support over the past year (and to Andy and Jen B for the past two and a half years) May this year be the best yet! Your goals sound great... challenging, yet attainable with enough dedication and hard work (which we all know you have plenty of!!) and thanks for posting those. [chuckle chuckle] I go with my parents and good friends to Niagra Falls for the upcoming weekend...and they love to eat like there is no tomorrow. One of those two days will be a free day, but the other one will require iron will on my part. I hope there is a gym at the hotel and I could get up and do my workout early o'clock. Don't suppose you could find your way over to Pensacola, FL in March could ya? Boy would that be fun...meeting after all this time in cyberBFL. Boy would that be fun...meeting after all this time in cyberBFL. Oh sheesh!! You had to bring up NIAGARA FALLS after all the water I have drunk already this morning!?!?!? Do you hate me or sumpin'??? LOL I'm sure you will do fine on your trip. Maybe you could eat mostly BFL-ish and just have 2 Free Meals instead of making one whole day your Free Day? Because I can tell you right now that I would end up with TWO Free Days if I started out with an entire day planned as Free Day. Just an idea. You could probably minimize the damage that way. I would LOVE to meet up with you all in March, but I'm in California and so it's quite a trip for me. Plus I was just in FL for the national championships for my cheer team, so I don't think my bank account would support another trip so soon anyway. Maybe we can do a West Coast meet-up at the Mr. Olympia in Vegas in October. That's where the original members of this group met up in 1999. Way cool. Jen B.
