Guest guest
thank you so much..........Lea. What would be a suggestion of the type ( brand) of a good stick blender anyone would recommend? I have demolished my first one and am wondering what most of you use ??? Also, if you don't mind suggesting what type of vessel most of you will use to make emulsions and various formulations? The material, size, and advantages or disadvantages....I currently use a stainless steel pot but am wondering where to go - - next - - - as I need more.. as I need to produce more volume... Thank you for any advice you can give. blue skies, Dakota

Guest guest
> What would be a suggestion of the type ( brand) of a good stick blender > anyone would recommend? I received a Braun as a Christmas gift about 15 years ago (before I started soaping/toiletry making) and wondered " What in the heck am I supposed to do with this thing? " LOL! Luckily I'm a bit of a pack rat because I still had it five years ago, when I got into this craft big time. I have been using it non- stop since then for all of my lotions, soaps, creams, etc. and have never had a problem with it. Friends who have bought the ten buck ones have gone through three or four or more of them in the same amount of time, but my Braun is like the Energizer Bunny. I highly recommend it! FWIW, I use stainless steel pots for my emulsions also. You mentioned producing more volume: how much is " more? " Stainless steel pots go up to " el giganto " sizes if you go to a restaraunt supply place. Me, I'm happy putting along with my 5 gallon SS pots, as I can't lift anything heavier when they're full, and it's possible to make a pretty decent- sized batch in them. ~Olga

KitchenAid has one out that is larger-has an 8 " immersion depth- runs about $50.00 in kitchen outlet stores I think Penneys also has it, but not sure of the price. Guest guest
I agree, I have a braun, and it is still going. Also, luckily I saved mine...it just sat in the cabinet till I started soaping. I've been through several walmart brands because I know the braun is pricey..so I save it for my really big batches of soap. No problems, last walmart one died on a batch of lotion..and it wasn't even very thick. I guess you get what you pay for. Now I look for them at garage sales. But, I still have my good Ol Braun. --- garlandrdsoapco wrote: > > > > > What would be a suggestion of the type ( brand) > of a good stick > blender > > anyone would recommend? > > I received a Braun as a Christmas gift about 15 > years ago (before I > started soaping/toiletry making) and wondered " What > in the heck am I > supposed to do with this thing? Guest guest
I got huge pots on sale at big lots....I imagine the ones through a supply store are pricey. I have one large enough to bath a baby in, I got it at big lots for like 8.99. It's stainless...not the thick nice kind you get from cooking stores, but it does it's job. --- dakotaddd@... wrote: > > thanks Olga.....that is exactly what I wanted to > know.... > I was thinking of going the restaurant supply route, > but wondered if I was > missing another angle.. > > > thanks > Dakota > > > > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > > > > > __________________________________________________
