Hi Tess- Sometimes a mineral supplement can help with leg cramps. Mine is

from GNC, it's called ultra mega mineral or something like that. Also

dehydration can cause them. Can you drink gatorade or pedialyte? Just throwing

a

couple of harmless ideas out there. I sure hope you feel better.

Hi Tess,

I'm a newbe here but I do suffer from FM, I know the pain you are talking

about...I now have to use a cane if I go outside the house as I can't depend

on my legs due to the pain. My Rhume has me on Imovane, 2o mg of

amytriptilyne adn now a small dose of 'rivitrol' and anticonvulsant...theis

releves my 'anxiety' or muscle tensing and it is helping...I also have RA,

DDD, thyroid, etc..which boils down to chronic pain so I also take

oxycontin...but the addition of the rivitrol had made it so I don't need as

many percocette to help with breakthroug pain and It stopped me having to

increase my oxycontin. I hope this helps...adn my prayers and thoughts are

with you.

Hey Sis,

I don't know about the FMS, but I have that awful hip pain which the

ortho dx as trochanteric bursitis. he would like to give me

cortisone shots in my hips, but steroids and Dercum's aren't on

speaking terms! So for now I just groan and bear it. I hope you can

get some relief soon!

Love ya,

Tess: I can fully understand the recliner sleeping, as that is also

where I sleep at times....LOL....I know you may have tried this and

sometimes it does work.....when you are in bed lay on your back and

put two pillows under bent knees it takes some of the presure off the

spine....the ortho guy I go to told me to try it and when I add a

heating pad at the base of my spine it does seem to help .....I have

long ago given up trying to sleep on my side...as far as your padding

goes...doesnt that mean there is just more Tess.....to love...hope

this works for you......Kathi in OK

Dear Tess:

About the cramps you are having talk to your Dr and tell him about them. Ask

him to due some blood work. One of your tests may be off a bit and he may

have to give you something like potassium or something else.

Don't worry about bothering him or anything, they like us to bother them.

That's how they make their living.
