Guest guest
a prescription of lactulose helps. Also a reduction in animal protiens such as red meat. It may be important to read articles on what foods produce the most ammonia in the intestinal tract. That is normally where it is absorbed by the body and excreted as waist. If the liver can't get rid of it, it ends up in the blood stream. Maybe a high fiber diet might help clear the colon faster and prevent ammonia build up.But you have to be careful of the there too. Guest guest
I eat a diet heavy on the grains and vegetable side of things. Fresh sqwash, asparagus, broiled in a toaster oven, I eat meat as a garnish. My curly hair has actually straightened out because of this. I always wanted straight hair, and now I have it! It has thinned too. I take the max dose of lactulose, and colase , and eat whole grains, Kashi, which is 7 grains puffed up with a touch of honey. It has worked fairly well for me. In the summer I eat mainly gazpacho soup. Love, Bobby " I will meet your judgement and distance with love and open arms when you come back. Guest guest
Terry was taking lactulose 4 times daily during the last 6-8 months of his life; never ate red meat and was extremely careful about eating any type of protein. It was a constant battle for him and for me. However, I did learn to see that battle as a blessing. The battle ended when he was no longer able to eat and I longed for the battle to be ours again. So, I guess that is my word of wisdom for the day, appreciate your battles because they mean you still have life and a chance to enjoy your family. Fight the battles and fight hard; you'll be glad you did! I love you and I'm praying for you! Many hugs.......
