Guest guest
People must have thought I was drunk. I kept stumbling to the right as I walked. And lately I've had vertigo. I have had dizziness before, but not vertigo. I also can't bend down and get back up. My legs are weak and shake when I try. I feel ya sister! Take care, Trista Thanks Trista, I guess I should stop worrying about what people think lol I just tell people when they look at my hands shaking or my balance swaying that I may have MS and they understand. You can tell when they notice. Guest guest
I am not diagnosed either, but I know what you mean. My balance is getting worse. Lately I have been falling and walking into things. I tried walking into my bedroom, and I hit my head on the door frame. Last weekend at Wal-Mart my DH pushed the cart and I literally could not walk straight. People must have thought I was drunk. I kept stumbling to the right as I walked. And lately I've had vertigo. I have had dizziness before, but not vertigo. I also can't bend down and get back up. My legs are weak and shake when I try. I feel ya sister! I notice my balance is off and my memory gets really bad when this happens and then usually it effects my bowels. I am really worried about my balance the more stressed out I get at the given moment the more I sway. Just wondered if anyone could relate? I really need to reduce my stress levels. But that seems impossible. I think that I may appear drunk to people with these symptoms lol and I don't drink or smoke at all. Things are definatly declining for me with walking as well. I am okay in the mo rnings but the minute I get tired I walk horribly gate all a mess. Guest guest
, That trip to Wal-Mart prompted me to get a script for a cane from my Dr. Haven't used it yet, but I have it for next time when I can't walk right by myself. Guest guest
I am having the same problem. My walking is really bad and I can't use a cane because my arms are weak. I fell twice at the hospital ... went there for a test not MS related. No one there either helped me or probably saw me ... the hospital just had a face lift and its not as busy as the old main entrance. Came home and fell again. Now I am so tired to walk even going to the bathroom is a chore. I hope everything gets better tomorrow with all of us, walkers The burning sensation, it will not go away. It seems stronger and stronger, every day. The pain, it is intense. This illness, doesn't make any sense. Guest guest
This sounds like so much more that just a nuisance or inconvenience. I went through this for almost the entire month of July. I needed to grab things to be able to walk and it progressed to the point where I could not even walk at all. Nerves and stress can definitely add to it, making it worse and more pronounced. Perhaps a medication for anxiety would be helpful to you. I finally ended up needing to ask my doctor for something because I was edgy, nervous, anxious, irritable, and weepy. I can't say for certain if it helped or not because I was only on it a short time before I had to stop it but I am beginning it again on Monday. I am so sorry and wish that I was close enough to give you a big hug and tell you everything was going to be just fine. Instead I'll have to settle for assuring you that all of us understands what you are going thruough and whatever we can do to help, we will. You are most definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
& Trista, I here ya about the balance problem. I thought too that people would think I was drunk and it bothered me. My hubby said that I worry to much what people think and forget about them. But I know what you mean. I had Bunco at my house this weekend. I use a cane outside my house but inside my house I feel comfortable to sway around unless I get real tired. I thought that maybe some of the ladies might of thought I was "tipsy" even though there was no alcohol just because I was kinda swaying all over the place. I finally when and got my cane. I put a tie die cover on my cane and it matched my outfit so that kinda loosened up my tention I felt. No one cared how I was walking, but inside, it bothered me....so I had to get my cane (teddy bear) out. Guest guest
Darlene, We are not alone. You should have seen me this weekend out shopping with my husband. I used my cane for the first time. It is the 4 pronged type, because the Dr. thought it would provide more stability. I've never used a cane before and I needed it because I was dizzy and my balance was way off. But, I kept setting it down on my foot and trying to trip myself! Good lord, people must have thought I was nuts! I'm not sure if it would be worse to stagger or nearly kill myself with my new cane! LOL.
