Hi !

Thanks so much!! I was sick for a long time so I don't recommend people do what

I did. But, now I try to eat foods that are high protein, low fat and low fiber

and I stay somewhere between 500 and 600 calories per day.

Thanks for your kind words Dave. I read them yesterday and started crying so I got up and ironed! :-0 I think I was just having an extremely "blue" day. Got up this morning and did 30 min. of the Strength Within tape. Now I just have to get a handle on my eating!

Thanks for caring.

Joan

After reading your post I just had to respond (like that's a big surprise). I'm sure some may think I have no life or spend to much time on this web site, but I feel I have made a lot of friends and want to try and offer any positive advice, encouragement, and/or motivation for those who need it. EVERYONE needs encouragement at some time or another. The motivation/energy/and excitement will come around once you're ready to jump back in. I wouldn't rush it, though. A clear frame of mind is the best to exercise with as, in my opinion, the mind is focused on the exercise and the body responds much better. please move at your own pace and don't worry about what other people may think. Any negativism that comes your way will drain the mind of motivation and determination. We're behind you and support you 110%!!! Do what you have to do and start back up when you're ready. It is my opinion that ANYONE who started the challenge did not fail. Missing exercise time during this challenge is not imperative to the overall picture when it comes to long distance personal goals. you are a very busy mom that has other priorities (family, house, etc.). I'm sure I will miss many days of exercise once my baby girl is born, but that will not deter me from wanting to persue a healthy lifestyle when it does not interfere with what is most important to me. Exercise time will become available again. Please take good care of yourself and do what YOU need to do. One thing I have learned from my generalized anxiaety disorder (GAD) is that it is OK to tell other people NO and/or take a break from everyday chaos that surrounds us. We live in a crazy world and the amount of undue stress we place on ourselves is mind-boggling, even when we don't realize it. I believe you are a strong individual that has high goals set for yourself. Even though you may have taken a few steps backwards, it won't be difficult for you to start walking forward again. Attainable goals are much easier to reach rather than trying to do everything for everyone. Please keep your chin up and do what you can. And please do not worry about what other people may think. I don't know if any of this will help you, but please know we are all trying to encourage you the best we can. Take care and God Bless.Dave > Hi All,> > I haven't posted in a while because, to be honest, I haven't been working> out. Update

Just wanted to let you know I will be going out of town and unavailable until Monday. We are going to visit my 13yo son in Montana who I haven't seen in 6 mos. Very exciting, and will be very tiring as well. I will catch up when I get home. Have a great weekend all!

My youngest son (now 15) was dx'd with ADD years ago. Do you plan to have your son evaluated?

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this, .

HUGS,

Challis

I looked at it and my father had called, I called him back to learn that Aunt had passed away during surgery. She was a second mom to him and he was very upset so we turned the car around and came back to NY, driving all the way to his house in Oriskany.

Workout update. Today was easier than yesterday. And I felt very loose afterwards except for the spot between my shoulder blades. 11 minutes on the Kick-boxing, and about 5 minutes on the Ab routine. More there because the tape had a warm up and I went ahead and did the warm up and then 1 minute in the ab section.

I have divided my tapes up by week, so I have a Tae-bos (plus 2 other kick-boxing tapes) day, boot-camp day and a concentrated ab/Pilantes day, and then my miscellaneous tapes, and a "The Firm" day, And one pile of like simply aerobic tapes. I didn't mean to acquire so many, but I'd buy a lot on E-bay for a particular tape at a good price and I get these others...so I just sorta piled them up. I had gone through them and weeded out the ones I couldn't do, but when I started being able to do more because of the Lyrica, I got a notion to sort *All* of my tapes into piles by category....and I made a mess of it -- all of the advanced tapes were in with the beginners.... LOL. I realized later that it probably wasn't the best idea I've ever come up with. So I know that there are tapes that I can't do in the piles, but as I come across them -- first I'll attempt them, to see if my level has improved...then if I still can't do it, I'll put it in an advanced pile that I'm keeping against the day that I can do them. I'm an optimist! :)

I have thrown out a tape or two that I just didn't like the person leading the tape. One leader was jerking her body around, and not in rhythm to the music....and the other, well, her voice gets on my nerves. I've tried, I promise I have tried several times to get pass the squeaky voice. I simply cannot do any tapes by her at all.

Have you ever gotten a "kick-boxing" tape and realize that they were using tremendously bad form? Ugh! Not every exercise guru is qualified to teach kickboxing.... I used to teach Martial Arts, and so I know what good form is, and what bad form is...and of course in the Tae-bo tapes, always teaches about form....that's to protect body from injury. I don't mind if it has an Martial Art instructor along with the guru...then I follow him, not the "star". That's the main reason I do the Tae-bo tapes over the other ones is because I know that he knows what he is doing. I can tell it in his form. I can just like my cranky mind go and let my body flow with the motions. :) Okay, enough complaints.

Still, overall, doing better, got the kinks out, I feel loose, and not too tired. :)
