Guest guest
I hope you will feel much better soon, dear Jan. Sounds like you're going to have a house full of love and fun on Christmas. Enjoy the day! [ ] Remember the reason for the season ( and a long tome from me) > My dear friends and family: > > I have been struck down with the flu for the past few days after flirting with it for over a week. I think I may be coming up for air as I feel better but still cannot overdo it. Good thing it is not over Christmas. > > Janis and Jeanna, both will be here on Christmas day with the 7 grands, plus one old ex (one of the girl's ex...thank goodness not the others) > > Richie is with his dad tonight and I have the house to myself. Kinda nice for a change. Richie and Big Rich were supposed to see Lord of the Rings three today and Richie was in that " can hardly wait " mode all week. He will come home in the morning and go to church with me for the Christmas program. Jeanna is in Florida, picking up her other son, Mickie from where he has been staying in Florida since September just before she left the Army and has been with his other grandmother. He has learned to chatterbox since he has been there and talks non-stop. We talked today and he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise as he had so much to say. It's hard to believe he will be 4 in April. Janis' oldest boy turns 12 on Monday and he had a sleepover at the YMCA last night where they allowed him to bring friends and celebrate his birthday. Richie was supposed to go, however he had the flu (mild) and had missed two days of school so thought it was best for him not to go and be around > other kids who might have colds or what not as he was just getting over it. He agreed himself. He is out of school until the first Monday after New Year's day. New Year's day is Jeanna's birthday and we have celebrated it for the past 25 years or more at a girlfriend's in Escondido. Her mother's birthday is January 2nd and she started this as a potluck to celebrate the two birthdays. Her mother is 80 now but you would never know it. The girls along with the 7 grands will be here at my house on Christmas day to celebrate. It will be a celebration as they have wanted to do " their own thing " for the past few years but when I told them I was having dinner no matter what and if they didn't come...fine...I would celebrate it by myself. Both girls accepted the invitation with no problems...think they were ready to come home and make this a tradition once again. The seven will be from 3 to 12 and should have a good time when Santa comes here. > > The house is just about back in order as a friend that is a contractor has been working on it for the past week and a half...squeezing me in as he can between other jobs. He was supposed to paint all the affected rooms today but called me and told me he has the flu (may have come from me and Richie or the 8 and 12 year old sons he and his wife still have at home) and would try to be here on Monday. He is really trying to get it done before Christmas. He accidentally called my number on the speed dial instead of a friend of ours that is my neighbor and told me he was feeling better but figured he had lost quite a bit of weight since last night. I know that feeling..... > > The weather turned overcast today and thought we might get some rain but so far haven't. It will probably be on the chilly side tonight. Sorry, you guys with the snow. I know it makes it look like a postcard Christmas but I will take my desert (yeah San Diego is classified as a desert) Christmas anytime. > > Have all my Christmas shopping done (what I able to do this year)......no cards addressed yet as I haven't felt up to it. But hoping to get some done tomorrow and Monday. My thanks to all of you that have sent me cards, either snail mail or email, I have really appreciated them. > > Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Remember the reason for the season! > > I have enclosed a wonderful website here. Be sure to wait for it to download and be prepared for the Christmas Spirit to unfold for you in a quiet and serene way. Enjoy! > > With lots of Love, Hugs, and Prayers for a splendid holiday. > > Jan.
