This just happened to my sister. $3000 in charges not hers. $1000 of it for a vacation package. This should make it easy to find them! *L*

oh yes, the merchant that was charged, told me right away where the charge came from, and she said they have the email, and doesn't the pc id get recorded or something?

---I have never used a credit card on line. I will not do it. A lot

of places have an address where a check can be sent. I am trying to

get rid of credit cards anyway. I only want one in case of an

emergency.

I would think so- but I've only had my computer 4 months now and the

only thing I'm any good at is surfing the web and emails,<grin>. But

my husband has been against buying things on the internet with credit

cards and now he has good reason.

Sorry guys, I guess we should take this subject to personal email.

The only things I have bought on internet with my card though have

been related to my diabetes. And I haven't even been able to try any

of the low carb sites yet, <sigh>. So do all these sites take checks

too- maybe just longer to deliver when you pay by check?

If you use a credit card, this can happen to you. We had someone steal our

number when my husband was on a business trip in FL. Another time, someone

got our new card through the mail system and used it. We were in Alaska

about 3 yrs ago. About 1 year later, we received a call from the card center

security. They were deleting our old card and issuing a new one immediately.

An employee at the hotel had stolen card numbers and had been using them.

Ours was not one of them used, but they issued the new card for safety

purposes. We have never been responsible for any of the charges. No problem

getting the charges removed. We use the internet for lots of purchases and

have never had a problem.
