Treated cotton clothing looks to kill

NEW YORK, Aug 23 (Reuters Health) -- A new, inexpensive way of treating

cotton may result in clothes that kill -- bacteria and viruses, that

is, according to research presented Monday at the annual meeting of the

American Chemical Society in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Clothing containing the treated cotton could contain substantially

fewer bacteria, leading to better smelling gym clothes, cleaner hotel

bedding, and less risk of disease being spread by the clothing of

healthcare workers.
