Guest guest
Gloria, Boy does this all sound familiar. I went basically my whole life with minor symptoms and then the last 5 years boom the foot started messing up and all heck broke lose it must have something to do with age . I didn't have any big problems unless I over did not unlike you. Now although I just had surgery and things are better I think that I am going to live with a whole lot more than I have so far. I use to love to dance could go out and dance every song but haven't been able to do that in a while. My daughter got married in September 2001 and I was so bummed out that I wasn't going to be able to get up and dance and yes I limped down the aisle and all day long. I got my one dance in with my husband but didn't get to dance with my new son in-law. What I did do was sit at my table and enjoyed the music and tapped my feet and just rocked out that way. It may not have been perfect but I thanked God that my daughter had found a wonderful man and was going to be happy. Plus soon I hope I will have grandchildren to enjoy. I may not be able to run and play with them but there is many other things I can teach them in a sitting position. We can't look back and regret what we should have done when we were able we just need to make the best of the here and now. I went through a time where I thought what was the use what was I good for any more but you know what when I thought about it all that didn't matter because there are plenty of things we can still do and we still have life lessons ( many more than some do) that we can share with are children and grand children. Sorry I didn't mean to sound to hard just trying to give you a kick in the butt. LOL Enjoy your sons wedding and tap those toes all day!!!! And please share some picture from your sitting position you will be able to get all the good shots. You will be paying more attention to all the little things that the dancers won't!!! Chris curled toes Hi. I've been noticing over the course of oh, approximately 6 months and more so lately that my toes on my left foot when laying down they are curling and the great toe is bending towards me. I even have a hard time getting my left shoe on because of this. These symptoms are very new to me as I never had any symptoms until 2000. I've read internet and book articles where they say taht Meningocle after the initial repair after birth there is relatively no damage to nerve pathway. Did their miinds stop there? That's what I was born with and for 49 years I thought I was without symptoms, had surgery because of increase symptoms and now the pains and symptoms are back more intense and I can't even attempt to do much of anything with being laid up on my back. I would like to know why I spent 49 years with minor discomfort, of course that would depend on what I did and then bang. I thought I would have the surgery, have some mild permanent damage that I could deal with but now it looks like I'm going to become more disabled as time goes on. I guess I'm bitter because if I had known years ago I would have planned my life a little different, choiced a different job etc. But this web site is wonderful because it allows me to vent, be happy, be sad and read what other wonderful people are going through too. My youngest son is getting married Aug 2 and I've always loved to dance and now I'll be lucky to limp down the isle in church and do a slow dance with my hubby and then sit back and watch everyone else have fun. I know this sounds selfish and I have to slap my self back to " OK, now don't be like that " and I try real hard but then somedays it just ain't possible. Sorry but if you don't want to read this it's ok with me. Sorry I got off track..........gloria
