I have not tried this yet but have been seriously looking into it. It

is in Tumeric. When I googled Tumeric I read some pretty amazing

things.for example:

Benefits of Turmeric

1. Turmeric reduces fats; aids blood circulation and purifies it.

2. Turmeric also helps digestion and is believed to help the body

against parasites in the intestines.

3. It is now investigated for potential use as anti-cancer and

anti-inflammatory aid.

4. It is antiseptic, warming and astringent. The Use

1. Bowel Cancer Patients

Where turmeric is frequently used, the chances of colon

cancer are very much lower. At the moment, UK cancer specialists are

testing oral turmeric capsules to be taken by colon cancer patients.

2. Arthritis Pain

Turmeric can also be used in reducing pain associated with

arthritis. This is how you can do it at home. Warm a cup of milk.

Before it boils, remove it from the heat and add in a teaspoon of

turmeric powder in it. Stir and drink it for up to 3 times daily.

3. Digestive Problems

Studies among animals prescribed with it suggest that

turmeric acts as digestive stimulant and encourages the release of

digestive enzymes that breaks down carbohydrates and fats. Thus, if

you always have stomach upset, turmeric tea may be a good idea.

4. Prostate Cancer

When combined with certain vegetables, this substance

holds good potential in treating and preventing prostate cancer.

Scientists in New Jersey have shown that turmeric alongside a

particular substance found in vegetables like broccoli, kale, turnips

and cabbage would ensure protection against this dreaded disease.

5. Heart Problems

A study done in 1992 has showed that turmeric may be able

to reduce cholesterol level and fight atherosclerosis. Preliminary

studies in mice have also shown its potential in blocking the

development of multiple sclerosis (MS).

6. Smokers

A small clinical trial conducted in 1992 showed that 1.5 g

of turmeric taken daily for a period of a month could decrease the

amount of mutagens (substance that helps cancerous mutation in cells).

In the study, even the urines of smokers were found to be lower in

mutagens (when they were given daily ration of turmeric) compared to

non-smoker subjects.

We got in on it early. fantastic stuf. Just don't give any other supplements

with tumeric or

curcumin in it as it will negate the effect. Great stuff easy to use. gave

charcoal and then alka

seltzer gold for die off. We have had one week no stim and plays with other

kids. My son is

- I stumbled upon a supplement called Curamin

(www.curamin.com) that similar to Enhansa boasts bypassing

the absorption issues known of cucurmin.

I have been giving it to my son a few days and I understand

that the Enhansa can cause die off symptoms and to work

up slow.. we are seeing some increased stimming with the

Curamin. Did you experience this with the Enhansa?

and what dosage are you giving your son? I am researching

the difference btwn Curamin and Enhansa as the cost is

so much less - I have an email into the founder of Curamin

for more info. but am curious about your child's initial

reaction upon introduction to Enhansa.

thanks,

Well, for our kids – I don’t agree with the starting

dose Lee Silsby has packaged with the enhansa – only because the hell

that we went through giving 75mg 2x a day. Some kids are fine at that

dose, mine and many others from what I have read were not. We were into

roughly about 2 weeks of crappy behavior, irritability, you name it –

when I dropped the dose back to 75mg 1x per day – and he did much better –

the 150mg was just too much. We saw some great things language wise or we

would not have pushed through. I kept him on 75mg for over a month before

raising it. We are now on 150mg 2x a day. I am seeing some die off,

but nothing like what we did initially. The gains with this supplement

are what keeps me going here – his language improves, sentences get

longer and longer. He is speaking his mind on things – and not just

answering questions when asked. He “sees” more things, asks

questions, etc.

Since it also have anti-viral properties, you can see a yeast

flare each time you increase the dose (which we are seeing now) – in the

past, we’ve seen the enhansa take care of the yeast once it was done

doing what it was doing with the viruses. That’s probably why you

are seeing the stimming increase.

Have you tried getting your insurance to cover enhansa?

Mine didn’t (cigna), but if you have a dr that can write you a script, it

is certainly worth a shot.

Hope this helps,

thanks for the info - does it have an NDC # when a

receipt is issued from Lee Silsby? If so, could you

post it so I can call my rx plan and see if it is

covered (if not, I'll call Silsby)

and congrats on finding a " wow-er " (lol) -

we are still looking for ours, hee hee.. but the

benefits of cucurmin are so well documented that

I don't think it should be overlooked. I even read

that it crosses the blood brain barrier for brain

inflammation!

Ty has a chinese equivelant to cucurmin in his herbal tea

formula.. I will be speaking further with his TCM

Dr. about it this week.

FWIW we muscle tested my son w/ enhansa yesterday and our practitioner

said that he needed 2 150 mg capsules per day. I went because on 3 he

was Ok but I was sensing that it was probably too many. He's 6, 40 lbs.

We've had great connected-ness, increase use of descriptive language,

increased spontaneous social language like calling out to the other

kids to play with him, or calling them for breakfast, tons of energy,

and knock on wood sleeping well once we adjusted after the first two

weeks. Good luck.

Curcumin has been demonstrated to be an anti-inflammatory agent, an anti-oxidant, anti-angiogenic, anti-bacterial, anti-neoplastic (2,4) and it has been demonstrated to be effective in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease.(3) Curcumin has been demonstrated to inhibit cyclooxygenase-2, lipooxygenase, nuclear factor kappa-B and inducible nitric oxide sythase. In addition to effects on inflammatory pathways, Curcumin has an independent effect on endogenous opiate pathways, as well. That is, Curcumin is a primary pain reliever involved in the same pathways as are opiates.(1)The addition of curcumin, a natural COX-2 inhibitor, to other anti-inflammatories synergistically (up to 1000%) augments the growth inhibitory effects in in-vitro and in-vivo models of arthritis and cancer, thus rendering effective action of the drug. Decreased dosages of 1/10th can be demonstrated.(4) Curcumin has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of auto-immune processes, as well. Curcumin is beneficial in the treatment of autoimmune diseases by inhibiting a number of proteans and enzymes, such as cytokines IL-1beta, IL-6, IL-12, TNF-alpha, IFN-gamma and associated JAK-STAT, AP-1, and NF-kappaB signaling pathways in immune regulatory cells. (5)For diabetic neuropathy, the use of Curcumin indicates anti-nociceptive, that is pain relieving activity and point towards the beneficial effects with insulin in attenuating diabetic neuropathic pain, possibly through the participation of NO and TNF-alpha.(6) The effects on diabetic pain seem to take up to 4 weeks, but may be observed much more rapidly.Recommendations:1. For the treatment of auto-immune disorders, pharmaceutical grade Curcumin should be used in dosages of 500 mg twice or three times daily. The purest form of Curcumin must be used.2. For pain, Curcumin 500 mg can be used twice daily.3. For the treatment and/or prevention of Alzhemier’s Disease, 500 mg once or twice daily can be used.4. For the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, Curcumin 500 mg should be taken twice daily; the addition of alpha lipoic acid 250 mg, three to four times daily provides the best relief.References:Tajik H, Tamaddonfard E, et al: The effect of curcumin (active substance of turmeric) on the acetic acid-induced visceral nociception in rats.
