Guest guest
WTG on the leg press!!!! Do you know how fast you run a mile in or 2 miles? Based on that you could predict your 5K time. Here's an online calculator to help http://www.runningtimes.com/pace/predict.htm Of course, if there are a lot of hills on the course, that could slow you down. I ran my first 10K last summer and predicted my time to within a few seconds and I wasn't wearing a watch. This race was a race where you had to predict your time and watches weren't allowed. I look forward to hearing about your first race. I hear Cleveland has some nice ones! Terri PS-the 20 MAS is great training for racing! I suspect the same. Yesterday I walked 5 mins. at 4mph, then ran 5 mins. at 6mph - 2xs...with a 3 min warm up and 3 min. cool down. I noticed I am burning less calories on with this so far. My 20MAS has me burning 200 cals and this had me burning 170 yesterday. I did not use any incline yesterday due to the heavy LBW I did the day before. (I'm hobbling today). Tomorrow I will repeat the above routine. I will introduce a mild incline if the sore/stiffness has subsided enough in my legs. Thanks for all the positive feedback. It absolutely feels wonderful to accomplish even the smallest of goals. [Grin] Kelley
