Guest guest
I've been lurking and learning so much thanks to all of you, esp. . I thank you all for that. I've been on 75g Effexor XR for about 11 months for general anxiety. It has done what promised. I'm going to my NP to discontinue it on 6/6. Last Wed. I didn't take my pill. I just wanted a " taste " of what I was in for with the discontinuing. Since Thursday I've opened the capsules and have only been taking roughly 37.5 g/day. But I haven't felt A THING. NO withdrawal symptons of any kind. Can this be? Or has my body not noticed not having the drug discontinued yet? I'm miffed as I've read with horror everyone's stories of going off this crap of a drug. Thanks for any insight! Grace

It's kind of you to speak up and say this. You said: <<I've been on 75g Effexor XR for about 11 months for general anxiety. It has done what promised. I'm going to my NP to discontinue it on 6/6. Unfortunately, with the XR products, it's not at all unusual to not feel anything different for several days after a decrease. This has been 5 days as of today for you. Generally, most people don't feel anything with an XL drug until the 7-12th day. I really wish I could tell you that you I was sure beat it. BTW, how do you know the drug worked? Most depression is self-limiting. It's nice to meet another member. Thanks for writing. Regards,
