What is it? Synthetic Spermacetti Wax. Sperm Wales have a reservoir of waxy

liquid in their heads that help them to echolocate (find their way around the

ocean using sound). Whalers thought the wax was the wale's sperm. That is why

it is called 'Spermacetti'. Spermacetti Wax was used in candles, ointments, and

cosmetics. Today the friendlier synthetic version is available. This is one of

those times when the synthetic version of an ingredient is preferable to the

natural Recommended usage rate is 3 to 10%. Melting point 43 - 47 C
