Hey stranger,

I was just asking about you last week. Way to go on your exercising still,

that's wonderful. Sorry to hear that you are having marital problems

though.. Hang in there, hopefully the counseling will benefit you and all

will be fine soon (I'm sure it will). Stop in more often!

Just touching base here.

I don't have time to go back the few weeks (maybe months) of messages
I missed... Meaning, I haven't even been lurking!! *hangs head in
shame*

BUT, I have been working out, and watching what I eat. I've lost 3
pounds since January. But, have probably added some muscle as my
clothes are looser than before. Also, I took some photos 2 weeks
ago, that really show some progress. You can see these at
<a

webshots.com/album/26054653WTxHSetNga

I'm still training for the 1/2 marathon, it's in less than 2
weeks!!! I'm starting to get really nervous...

My training has been difficult, punctuated by many events: 1) injury,
2) flu and 3) marital problems. Gilbert and I are in counselling
right now. A few weeks ago, he left home for a week, saying that he
wanted to end it all: he also told me that he wanted FULL custody.
I convinced him to go to one counselling session before he made his
final decision. After that initial session, he decided to come back
home and work things out.

Through all this, I was determined to reach my goal, and got outside
support to help me out (especially since I only had about 6 weeks to
go in my training, and I had been working at this since December). I
had to modify my training schedule, but I'm getting through it!! I'm
one determined chick ;)

I have decided that I will focus on another goal once this is done:
I'm finally going to do the BFL challenge. I'm almost there, just
some tweaking of my eating and of my training... I remember when I
attempted the challenge back in 2000, I kept at it for ONE week. I
thought it was too restrictive. But, I've been keeping a journal of
my eating and training, and have realized that I'm almost doing
it!!! I've been eating lots of lean protein with complex
carbohydrates and between 35-45g of fiber a day; six meals a day, all
with protein and carbs; have virtually eliminated refined carbs from
my diet (alost, as I do have occasional cheats); heavy weight
training in splits alternating with intense cardio (running is
INTENSE cardio... especially when doing intervals). Ok, I admit, I
only do taebo rarely... may I dare say, on easier cardio days??
*ducking for shelter*

Please do fill me in with what has been going on around here.

One last thing for those of you who are attempting to reach goals:
FOCUS and PERSEVERANCE is the key. Everything is possible if you
focus and persevere... Also never forget: when you fail to plan, you
plan to fail.
Hi Janick,

My little guy is doing wonderful (Sawyer). His new thing is the JOhnny jump-

up. He is so stinking cute. He practicly starts bouncing before I even get

him in it :) Yes, my father did pass away on February 19th. It still seems

unreal to me..........

Take care Janick, I'm gonna have to check out your pics, it sounds like you

look wonderful! BE PROUD!!

Thanks Janick, it means a lot. I just give my baby extra loving when I think

Janick, you look great plus I like the way you have all your weights organized.

I thought I was weight conscious since three weeks ago finding Joyce Vedral and

now doing eight pounders but you really inspire me. Congrats and good luck on

the marathon.

I'm a Joyce Vedral fan as well!! Although her workouts are really

expensive, I have bought a few. She's a nice change of pace from

Cathe. Some people don't like her, and find her abrasive, but I

think she's quite charming in a dorky kind of way ;) BTW, with

Joyce, I can't lift quite as heavy as with Cathe, because I find she

goes fast, and I can't maintain proper form. Generally, I work with

10, 12 and 15 pounders (but sometimes less). I can't do Firms that

much anymore, because I need to go to 20 or 25 pounds for the leg

press segments, and it hurts my shoulders, that's why I have

gravitated towards Joyce.

Thanx for calling me an inspiration!!

Hey, I was deprived up until three weeks ago about Joyce Vedral. She is

wonderful. I love following her NONSTOP and now because of the swap trade I

have another. Easy to follow. Check out http://joycevedral.com - she has been

around a while and I never heard of her but I am hooked now.
