Guest guest
Dear Precious Group Family, Hello!! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted much lately, but I wanted to thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers. They've certainly made a difference b/c the carcinoid test was negative...meaning that there was no floating tumor. Now, what I'm about to write is going to sound horrible..and it is...but as always..I know without a doubt that God is in complete control and that He wouldn't have blessed me and my precious husband with our little angels.. 5 and Calvin 2 if I weren't going to be here to raise them. It's very hard to tell all of you this b/c I don't want ANYONE to be discouraged from getting a tx. This is just a very very rare case and WILL NOT HAPPEN to any of you guys...But I was told on Thursday that I am going to need another liver transplant to stay alive. Not because of this liver...it is doing beautifully, but because my organs in my chest cavity are crushing the artery that supplies blood to my heart. I was told yesterday that I must stay in a position with my feet up high to pump the blood back to my heart. That's not easy to do with a 5 and 2 year old as you can imagine. I'm going to really push for them to do another vena gram next week and see exactly what type of pressure gradient they get and just see if a stent would possibly work for a little while. They've told me it could take a month or so to get me back on the list and then they don't know where I would be placed. There are lots and lots of questions...even some legality questions, but we've decided to take one step at a time and deal with them as they come along. We are going to get an atty. involved and on top of everything with out the docs knowing until it's all over. Well, now that it's all laid out on the table...would you please pray....each of you are so very dear to me and you lift me up and inspire me so much. Just think of the AWESOME witness this will be to others to show how AWESOME GOD IS!!! Bringing me back from the brink of death.....We continue to give Him all of the praise and all of the glory. After all...it says that we are to " rejoice through our trials " . One way that my pastor put it which made sooo much sense...he said that maybe the liver God intended to help me live to 100..hasn't become available yet and He just allowed me to get 's liver....1) to become very close with her dear family and 2) to allow me to live this much longer. We don't know what His plans are....but we do know that He is faithful and sovereign!!!!! And is so AWESOME!!!! So please don't worry...just pray that we get answers this week so we will all know how to pray and what to pray for!! I love you all so much and better go elevate my feet and get the kids to sleep. Just a funny side note to show how God gives us these diversions to get our minds off of crises...this morning Calvin (age 2) came in with his cowboy hat on, boots and stick horse and told me he was changing his name to Carl!!!!haha!!! And for the record...no....we don't all wear cowboy hats, boots and ride horses in Texas...in fact the last time I saw a horse was about 15 years ago!!haha I love you all soooo very much!!! You all mean the world to me... We'll get throught this together!!!! Love you, Jacquelyn
Guest guest
Jacquelyn, Like your doctors and Aubrey I don't know what the condition of you veins and arteries are, except that they are giving you problems. One site I saw, for interventional radiology, http://www.ddc.musc.edu/public/test/ir.htm, made me feel that there were techniques to treat complications of major surgeries that would allow placing supports (stents) in the collapsed veins, permitting free return of blood to your heart. Then I saw another site, The Role of Vascular and Interventional Radiology in the Liver Transplant Patient. (http://www.centerspan.org/pubs/liver/diamond1.htm) Its description of the complex nature of the blood vessels involved in the area was discouraging, " Vascular stents, used routinely today for iliac, renal, and coronary stenoses, are usually not considered for the liver transplant population because of the tortuosity of the hepatic arterial bed, which makes delivery of metallic stents cumbersome. " But I think your problem is with the Inferior Vena Cava. Their comment - " We have treated only a few caval stenoses. In one patient a recurrent stenosis was treated successfully with a large metallic stent. " If any of these sound familiar, I would suggest meeting with your doctors to see if some less invasive procedure can relieve your condition. I pray that you will find the solution quickly and be back on your feet, attending to life like you would like to do. Tim --- JQS2@... wrote: > > Dear Precious Group Family, > Hello!! Guest guest
Tim, Really interesting info about stents. Thanks for finding those sites. I'll check them out when I return from my vacation. In the meantime I'm signing off from the group so that I don't return to 1000s of messages. Aubrey
Guest guest
As always Jacquelyn, your faith is a true inspiration. I only hope that I can continue to have half the faith that you have. I'm burning my new french vanilla yankee candle as we speak, and it burns for you and your beautiful family. I feel touched by an angel. I love you too.
