Guest guest
I was diagnosed at the end of April 2003 with advanced RA. My insurance did not want to cover it because they felt it was pre- existing. I proved them wrong and they are now going to cover my treatments. To date my medication treatments have been imuran and steroids. I stopped the steroids a few weeks ago due to weight gain. I am having multiple flare ups and will be going to the doctor next week. She had told me she would put me on one of the newer medications once my insurance kicked in. What do you find has been successful for you guys. Thanxs! It is my feet and hands that bother me so far. Hope your doctor finds something to help you. Betty
Guest guest
That will vary widely! I have found Kineret to be the most helpful. I am currently taking Remicade @ 8mg/kg and am not real impressed... I will be going back to Kineret I think. Best of luck in your search for the perfect drug! > I was diagnosed at the end of April 2003 with advanced RA. My > insurance did not want to cover it because they felt it was pre- > existing. Hello and welcome.I have a very aggresive form of RA and unfortunately in my case after trying everything on the market to slow the disease down nothing worked.I'm now in a wheel chair, in January when Humira first became available I was the first one in our county to be put on it and thankfully it's slowed the inflamation by 60%.As well as Imuran, prednisone and minocycline. But each person's case is so widely different. Some are able to treat their disease holisticly.I would council that you listen to your body, as well as your doctors and do exactly what your doing.Read and reasearch as much as you can.Knowledge is power. It's amazing how strong you feel when you know what the doctor is talking about and if you don't, don't be afraid to ask questions. It sounds like your on a strong path.Keep us informed. And good luck. Gentleness,Boo.
