Guest guest
The Geek Squad did get the external monitor port to work. Laptop tablet is online -- saw none in 3 stores today and is much more expensive. I got more for less by switching to the bamboo signature pad. I feel "dead in the water" without my computer -- using daughter's right now. I couldn't imagine ordering on line and waiting. I wanted a fix NOW! Normally you have to press a key combination to display the screen on the external monitor, or, boot up with the external monitor attached. Laptop tablet impossible?? No .. they're readily available but perhaps online only. And prices are premium. Screen failed as I was in the store shopping for a new one. Three days til I'll have new one (Geek Squad is doing the data transfer) and then I'll have a ton to do - set it up as the server (I've never done it before), get my EMR put on it, get Welch to transfer the ECG program to the new computer and I'm sure there's stuff I haven't even thought of yet! Finding a laptop tablet is impossible. I bought a HP laptop and got a Bamboo pad to sign off documents that come in via fax. Thank you everyone! If you're backed up, and you're ready to run on a desktop if your laptop fails at any stage eg. while seeing patients .. then wait until it fails. If that is too inconvenient, then time to look for a replacement. If it's over 5 years old .. way time to look. Mutt - I did back up yesterday. Thanks for the warning. Graham - I was going to Staples to see if it flickered on a seperate screen for them andnow it's not acting up at all! Next recommended step? - It is one of those with the the pivoting connection in the middle but I never pivot it but use it as a normal laptop....that shouldn't twist anything. Now I'm faced with replace before disaster or keep working since money as always is very tight........... -- Graham Chiuhttp://www.compkarori.co.nz:8090/Synapse - the use from anywhere EMR. -- Graham Chiuhttp://www.compkarori.co.nz:8090/Synapse - the use from anywhere EMR.
