Guest guest
Hi Kallie, I am sorry you are not feeling well, this disease is not fun, but they do have a lot of new meds out there. I started off on Plaquinell also it worked for me for a while. I have tried alot of the new drugs and Methotrexate worked good for me for a long time, I am now on Humira and Arava but just started it and am also on prednisone because of a flare do to taking away Mxt. The fatique is a big part of RA, it is really hard for someone who does not have it to understand it, my husband doesn't and I have had it for 17 years now. The last flare did wake him up a bit! This is a really good place to get some information, hope your meds. help soon. Rest is good! in Central Oregon
Guest guest
Hello, Kallie, and welcome to the group! Sorry you are experiencing such severe fatigue and not feeling so good. Do you have a rheumatologist and have you told him/her exactly what is going on? There are many other choices for treatment that may improve your situation. Here's a good article on fatigue that you may want to read and share with your boyfriend: http://www.rheumatology.hss.edu/pat/eduPrograms/livingRA/fatigue_n_RA.asp [ ] Newly Diagnosed RA > I've been recently diagnosed with RA. Guest guest
What a great article. I just sent it to my mom and husband at work. Hopefully that will help my hubby " get it " . > Hello, Kallie, and welcome to the group! > > Sorry you are experiencing such severe fatigue and not feeling so good. > Do you have a rheumatologist and have you told him/her exactly what is > going on? > > There are many other choices for treatment that may improve your > situation. > > Here's a good article on fatigue that you may want to read and share > with your boyfriend: > > http://www.rheumatology.hss.edu/pat/eduPrograms/livingRA/fatigue_n_RA. asp > > > > > > [ ] Newly Diagnosed RA > > > > I've been recently diagnosed with RA. Guest guest
Hi , I've had RA for 11 years now, diagnosed when I was 43, sero negative also. If you met me today you would not know that I have RA. I have a mild case right now and for that I am extremely thankful. That being said, you need to find the best coctail for you. Find a rheumy that you really connect with and go from there. Get your Vit D levels checked. I wish you all the best. in PA On Sat, Jan 15, 2011 at 4:40 PM, S <jstringo79@...> wrote: > > > Hello, > My name is and I was just diagnosed with RA exactly one month ago. > This as been devastating for me, I am 31 and also a triathlete and ran my > first marathon in November. Guest guest
jessica, i was the same age as you when i was diagnosed. i was a single mom with 4 kids at home. At that time I ran, played volleyball and softball, danced, and did a lot of stuff with my kids. I do have a lot of fatigue, I used COQ10 and it helps some. I also eat way healthier than I used to, rest when my body tells me to, and don't beat myself up. i'm on enbrel, and am working my way back into being more active. i live in a very small texas town too, would have to commute back to dallas for any kind of group stuff and it's a 25 mile one way trip so that's out. I have a very supportive family, church family, and girlfriends. My faith is what keeps me going. Hang in there, sweet girl. E me if you ever need to rant, vent, whatever. We've all pretty much been through the wars here. jane in finally above freezing Dallas! > > Hello, > My name is and I was just diagnosed with RA exactly one month ago. This as been devastating for me, I am 31 and also a triathlete and ran my first marathon in November. I was having alot of joint pain during training mostly in my upper extremities, but still managed to train. After my marathon I finally decided to go to the MD to see why I was having this severe joint pain, after many tests and a 2nd opinion, RA was the diagnosis. (all my initial rheumatoid tests were neg) Then the rheumatologist did one more test that was sent off, it took 10 days to come back, but it was def. positive for RA. I am having a really hard time dealing with this, I just cry most of the time and it is consuming my thoughts constantly. How do you overcome this? I have been out of my flare now for almost a month and the MTX has caused so much fatigue. Does anyone else have fatigue that bad? How do you get motivated? Any suggestions are welcomed. I live in a small town and there are no local support groups around here so I feel this is all I have. I have really enjoyed reading the posts and I dont feel so alone anymore. Thanks everyone. > > , TX >
