The reason I wanted to know is that I am having stability problems with a cream peroxide. It is losing viscosity with time, and in some instances has started to " cream " , though the hydrogen peroxide level is pretty constant, so I don't believe this is causing a problem. The formula was customer supplied and I suspect the emulsifier ratio to be incorrect:- Cetearyl Alcohol 2.85% Oleamide DEA 1.00% Ceteareth 30 0.80% Required HLB for cetearyl alcohol is 15.5. The above emulsifier combo is 6.11 + 7.33 (assuming ceteareth 30 at 16.5, I can't find this either?) = 13.44 Too Low. The Oleamide also thickens the product, so I will be trying: Cetearyl Alcohol 4.00% Oleamide DEA 0.20% Ceteareth 30 0.80% Giving HLB of 2.2 + 13.2 = 15.4, about right. The increased cetearyl alcohol will hopefully compensate for the reduction in Oleamide DEA Roll on tomorrow! Thanks again Dave Eastham
