Guest guest
Hi......Mike and I met with some friends for lunch last week. He is retired from the teaching profession and also battling a disease. We spoke about insurance and he mentioned that after receiving social security disability for a period of two years, he was required to take Medicare. Does Medicare pay all your expenses? I wouldn't think so..but I'm asking. Also if you belonged to a group HMO and then placed on Medicare are you able to maintain your HMO and have your Medicare as a backup or must you drop your HMO? If that were the case maybe one should not apply for the disability . Maybe your trading extra income for medical expenses. Does this sound at all reasonable or should I just go back to bed?
