We moved the radio to hall of the exam rooms instead of the waiting room to muffle sound transmission. We also hung fiber art on the walls instead of pictures because it absorbs more sound. We have an artistic quilt hanging in 1 room. You might have to change your ceiling tiles to something more sound proof if you can or layer insulation above the tiles. We haven't needed to that because the radio and fiber art has been good enough Larry Lindeman MDRoscoe Village Family Medicine2255 W. RoscoeChicago, Illinois 60618www.roscoevillagefamilymedicine.com Helen,I’m sorry this is happening. Don’t let the wife scare you. You have rights as the tenant. At least they gave you 4 month’s notice. Our office was designed with soundproofing between the suites (so we don’t hear our neighbors), but not between our own rooms. Big mistake. The walls go up to the drop-down ceiling. We have a radio playing in the waiting room so that patients waiting there don’t hear what’s going on. But male voices especially seem to carry. Sometimes sitting at the front desk, even with the radio on, I can hear them. I text to Steve “sh” so he knows to try to quiet them. We put patients in every other exam room. Fortunately, we have 4 exam rooms and can do that now that it is only Steve. – from sweltering NorCal, 104 out right now (7:25 pm) and waiting for the sun to go down…..at least we got some summer finally! We still can not find any language in the lease that allows him/her to do that.We found a small enough new space with drop ceilings that needs a lot upfiting. My acupuncture patients are usually on the table for an hour, so I really hope to have good sound proof.Could anyone please give me some specific ideas for sound proofing? With the duct-work and wires in place (above the ceiling tiles), it would be much more expensive to build the walls up to the real ceiling, instead of up to the ceiling tiles. Would this really provide much better sound proofing? What kind of sound proofing materials would you recommend to put inside the walls? Do they really work?Would some flooring work better than others? How about carpeting the walls?Any other suggestions?Thank you very much in advance.Helen

Guest guest
Find a great lawyer and counter sue her ass off for harressment, undo stress, unfair treatment, and breach of contract. Make the moron back down and crawl back under the rock she crawled out from underneith... Clearly she has some other motive be it getting rid of you for a sale or new higher pay lease, is hoping to scare you enough to make you buy from her at her over depressed market value... Something, stop looking straight ahead and start thinking real reasons. Nasty messed up people rarely tell you the truth even as they swear it is... It is part of the nature of denial and projection, manipulation, even direct lies to get their own real needs met.... Stop, think look, you shall find.... Call her bluff and tell her you'll have her arrested if she comes anywhere near your office space without real cause of basically an emergency repair. The reason you have a lease is to protect you from just such flipant changes of heart and ill intent. It is a contract that both parties must live by....
