Guest guest
i am a vietnamese daughter taking care of her ailing 57 vietnamese mother suffering from cirrhosis as a result of a blood transfusion she received while giving birth to my 29 year lil bro. we live in louisiana anyone from here and see doctors at Ochsner Hospital? my mom was diagnosed pre-katrina but it seems now we are starting to see real symptoms of her failing liver such as vomiting/urinating of blood and enlarged stomach due to fluid/blood? how often can i expect to be taking her to the ER/hospital as a result of this? my mother is not on any medications for her cirrhosis because the doctors her stomach is too weak as a result of her vomiting after biopsy. i want to know is it possible for my mom to keep working eventhough she is tired and weak all the time? we need my mom to keep working cuz my father has refused to work ever since he sold his shrimp boat 5 years ago.i have alot of questions and hope some of yall can help answer them. what kind of meds do you and your family members take to help ease the pain/troubles associated with the disease? what foods do you eat or avoid? my mom may be suffering diarrhea should i be getting her depends?if she is no longer fit to work should i get a home health nurse to help take care of her eventhough she is the mother of 6 and 4 of us still live with her along with my father. my father is really no help if my mom is in the hospital my dad would only spend like an hour with her the whole day cuz he hates how he isnt allowed to smoke. it is really us children to look after her. i dont wanna lose my mother to this disease but she refuses to get a transplant what do i do? thank you all so much i am glad i found this group. laura from louisiana
