Guest guest
Peg, As you know there are many specialists you visit to be evaluated for a transplant. The one that determines the CTP score is usually a gastroenterologist. He tries to figure out how bad the liver disease really is and the CTP score is one widely recognized way of putting a number on how bad it is. The doc may give a rating based on past history even though the latest test show a lower level. This is especially true of conditions which fluctuate widely. There generally is a review committee who combine all the recommendation of all the specialist and determine if the center will list you. --- Peggy Alfeld wrote: > You > still haven't answered my question. Guest guest
Peg, I am in agreement with Phil's doctors, and plan to make my opinions known at the time of our next visit. I will see what they have to say about it. I would like to avoid any invasive tests if possible. Liz

Guest guest
I'm sure Aubrey's answer will be better, but Phil's doctors believe that they can check for cancer with blood tests and don't recommend an ERCP or brushings if he isn't having problems. Phil's doctors are very non-invasive and we had a bad experience with his ERCP. Guest guest
, So far, that is what everybody has said. I sure am glad to hear that the percentage is that low. The way the doctor talked, he sounded like it was more of a likelyhood than not. I told what y'all have been saying and I think it took a little of the weight off his shoulders. Thanks everyone! Guest guest
Aubrey, I have to say that you are quite up on the knowledge of PSC, it's nice to know that there is someone out there with so much knowledge on the subject. Thanks for all the input. I've already learned a bit more by reading your e-mails and I'm a very new member who doesn't get online much.
