Guest guest
Help! I have a great lotion recipe. If I half the water, it's just thicker. What I would like is something with a little more " ooomph " I use water, almond oil, apricot kernel, avocado, emu/ostrich oil, e-wax & stearic acid. If I put the creme in a tin, I would like the consistency more like Nivea travel tin. The reason I'm saying this is because this tin will be used by my clients that travel a lot. This creme needs to withstand a little heat without it melting. Can you help please? Thanks, Irena marchu2@...

I would not use a tin, rather a plastic because tin will rust with a water-base ingredient in it. I would increase your oils/butters/waxes to 35 % and decrease your water base so total equals 100 %. I would also add a preservative such as Germall Plus because this is a water-base product and you will need to preserve it for safety of the consumer against bacteria. hth Sherry Sherry's Creations Natural Care Books, booklets, spreadsheets wwww.herbalsoap-healingcreams.com
