By that afternoon, my throat had bloomed, and it looked like popcorn in there. I couldnt swallow- I went to an urgent care facility, and they were shocked that the ER turned me away with no definative DX. Later I found that the doctor had written some choice lies in my chart. I am going to have to raise some hell now, and get all of this cleared up, but I am only going to pay them 5 dollars a month if I pay anything at all. By that afternoon, my throat had bloomed, and it looked like popcorn in there. I couldnt swallow- I went to an urgent care facility, and they were shocked that the ER turned me away with no definative DX. Later I found that the doctor had written some choice lies in my chart. I am going to have to raise some hell now, and get all of this cleared up, but I am only going to pay them 5 dollars a month if I pay anything at all. As I've always said...insurance comapnies are not non profit companies...someone is making lots of money off of us! I am so sick of it!!  Even those of us with insurance pay lots of money out of pocket. If I did write this book, it would be a best seller. You should see what the doctors and nurses write about what they see day in and day out in the ER. Needless to say, it does not mesh with the popular tv show. What I have witnessed and experienced my self could set your jaw to droppin. Between Sharon,Ardis my daughter and myself we combined were seen in the ER 22 times between 2006 and now. 8 of those were me, and 8 were Ardis. 4 times and Sharon twice. It got really really old, and the people who kept seeing me called me a frequent flyer, and started lying about me on a regular basis. I havent been in two years now, which is why I waited until the last minute to call 911 for my nose last week. I ended up not calling, so I made the right call. It always used to bother me when my kids ate the ears off their chocolate rabbits. Somethings I am pretty irrational about. For instance, I couldn't thin my carrots when I had a garden. Seemed like murder. And I also ended up with carloads full of zuchini because I couldn't thin them either. My carrots would come out like a cork screw, two or three all grown next to each other, why they circled I don't know. Anyway back to the sugar free which is what I meant to write about. I refuse to eat most sugar free products, first they substitute chemicals which bother my stomach or they substitute high sucrose corn syrup which has been found to be a problem too. IMO, if there is anything to substitute for the sugar, unless it is splenda which I used to use a lot of, you are better off eating the sugar. At least it is natural. I can't tell you anything about the benefits or detriments of white chocolate, except to say that it almost seems greasy to me, so I don't usually eat it. It would be interesting to find out if it is actually chocolate, or just called that because it has similar looks to actual chocolate. You would think that since he has had his transplant he should be able to fight off and even not get all these things. One of the first things I was told when I was diagnosed about 10 years ago or more was to stay out of crowds because my immune system was compromised. I was told not to go shopping, not to go to church or any other place where there were crowds. I decided that while I did want to live, life without any of those things wouldn't be much of a life. So, I have been doing all that I can. The amazing thing is that except for my allergies, I haven't really gotten sick much since then. I haven't even gotten the flu shot half the time. I have problems with my body because of muscle and other deterioration, but viral infections not really. The chemicals may well get us, but we know for sure that sugar will. Guest guest Posted April 19, 2010 Report Share Posted April 19, 2010 Hmmmmm. Well, I will never be on a transplant list, and he probably knew that when he said it because he told me to find a donor. But, I left him after the first year and haven't really had one since on a full time basis. Have been to transplant center for consultations, and the subject hasn't come up. My cardio does encourage me to get out and do whatever I can so I don't go into a depression. Maybe he just didn't know what he was talking about. But, others here have said they sometimes have to wear masks and watch out for animals. I don't know. As I said, even if he was right, it wasn't worth it to follow what he said. My feeling was I could just as well have died right away if I couldn't do the things I liked to do. I haven't had all the blood work done to check my melf for quite a while, asked for it a month ago, but it wasn't done. Last I checked, i thought it was 16, but not sure that was right. Doesn't really matter with the anemia and kidney problems I am having right now. Why is your spleen enlarged?
