Guest guest
Hi My doc wants me to see a neurologist. I've seen two neurosurgeons in the past and frankly, I thought neurosurgeons and neurologists were one in the same. So what can I expect? How do neurologists treat pain? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi LaMar, On your first visit with a neurologist, he/she will ask you about physical history, where is the pain? where you injured? family history of illnesses, etc. Then he will conduct a basic physical exam, like " reflexes " , coordination, strength test, etc. If he finds you need tests to find the source of your pain, he will order MRI, EMG (nerve teste), etc. He may prescribe medication for your pain, but this is usually after the tests if you need them. Good luck with your visit. LaDonna. " texaslamar " wrote: > Hi My doc wants me to see a neurologist. LaMar
