Guest guest
You need to reread what you wrote. You did say some positive things. Keep in mind that fat loss happens from the inside out. You lose internal fat covering the organs first. You are stronger and likely have gained some muscle. Keep this up and you'll start to see more visible fat loss! Guest guest
I looked at the pictures and I thought for a minute that he must have been joking when he wrote the email. Seriously. Then I realized that people really don't SEE what's in front of their eyes when it's their own body they are looking at sometimes. That's AWESOME progress. You have so obviously traded fat for muscle. Lots of it, too! Sara Re: I'm ready to give up on BFL!! > Did anyone else on the board look at the pics? Guest guest
I have to agree with andy. Re-read what you just wrote. You've had some great strength increases, you eat like a champ, you're obviously leaning up from the pictures, but you're not seeing the scale weight changes? Boo-hoo! I've seen people's transformations where there was a two pound scale weight change but the flubber peeled off like they were an onion. You look to be one of those types since you're leaning up at an amazing rate. Turn in that stupid scale for a measuring tape and make that the thing that rates your progress. Keep it up! Guest guest
Hi Will, I was reading old posts and I think your visual and strength transformations are AWESOME! Are you seeing the same pictures I am? Wow!!! Great job, keep it up. The last time I did my challenge I ran out of gas at the end because I simply pressed myself way too far. Dig deep, and keep going. I didn't have the support that you have here! We're cheering for you! Keep it up. Are you measuring body fat? I'm positive you'll see some serious dropping of that number, even if the evil scale won't budge. Jami Ending Week

Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this list, but not to BFL, so I'll chime right in here with my 2cents worth. Everthing I've read, and every one I've seen who had great success on BFL agree...the big changes happen in the last four weeks. You say your lifting has increased, but the scale has stayed the same...yup...sounds plausable..you are replacing fat with muscle...how do your cloths fit? How do you feel? Obviously you are working out hard enough, so if you are stuck on the scale...evil scale monster that it is, and not a reliable judge of your improvement either....then you have to look at your food. I know...Bill says 'Don't measure! Don't count calories! Eat what you want on Free Day! " ....but you have to be sure you are being honest with yourself about your food intake. It's really a very simple formula...calories in/calories out. If you are going so hog wild on your free day that you undo all of your caloric deficit for the week you will slow down the fat burn. I know that " Palm/Fist " method alone does not work for me. My fist gets bigger and bigger! Or (and this really does happen to me in the first four weeks or so) my servings get smaller and smaller. I have to put my food into fitday.com and SEE the numbers to know I'm staying where I want to be. Have you ever looked at this site: http://www.hussmanfitness.org/ It has a ton of really good info, how calories work, where our fat lies, where it burns off first (did you know that when we are over weight, especially if we have been for a long time, our muscles are " marbled " with fat, just like a steak. That fat is the first to get burned off...doesnt' effect our pants size, so we never know it's leaving) and much more. There is a BMR calculator there too, to help figure out a target caloric range. Now, many of you will scream BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT BILL SAID TO DO!!!...and you are right...but sometimes we need to calibrate our palm/fist size. You are only in week six. And you are probably doing great, you just don't know it yet. As for the extra cardio...yes, I've noticed that many of the winners did extra cardio, especially the women or the men with a high BF% starting out. But, be carefull you don't over work yourself. Don't burn yourself out going hot and heavy...more is not always better. This is more like a marathon than a sprint....the marathon is your life span. Anyway...I've rattled on for too long...hang in there and you will see results. Barbara
Guest guest
Will, Take those measurements NOW, and then again in 2 weeks. There are websites that you can enter your measurements and it will calculate bodyfat. www.biofitness.com is one that I've been using. Don't give up! keep going!!! Jami No, I didn't take my measurements before cause I was > afraid I'd die of embarrassment and I don't own a body fat caliper. > >
