Guest guest
I tried the Q-Tip thing and it scared me (thought I would swallow it!), so I'm going to stick my finger back there instead! I hear people talking about the dentist's chair as being bad and I guess I don't totally understand. I think my dentist's chair is all in one piece, so my head just rests nicely on it in a straight line. Is more of the concern the angle of the head when the work is being done? I suppose I never thought it was that awkward. The chair hurts my back more than my neck! As far as the beauty shop goes, I never stick my head in those sinks. I have the stylist spritz my hair with water. I also don't know if I want somebody else washing my hair. I know where not to poke and scratch! I have kind of reached a consensus about swimming. I will do a side stroke because I can rest my head in the water and I can avoid my sore side. I could end up with one big arm and one little one! But, it wouldn't hurt to have more strength in even one arm. I won't do any more breast strokes because of sticking the neck out of the water. We live in a subdivision and this is a rather small private pool for just the residents, so the laps are rather short. Also, I might consider taking the arthritis water class at the Y. I've got to convince my husband, though, to let us join the Y. (That would give me a warm place to walk in the winter, too.) I guess I'm not all that worried about the pressure from the water influencing the CSF. I feel like flying is worse on that and I have never had problems flying, except for the usual ear popping thing! Also, being in poor shape, I'm not going to swim a marathon!
