'Cost of doing business on the Internet' sounds about right: every message board

I've ever been to (except the one for this group, yay!) has had its share of

trolls. The people who wrote positive comments were very interesting, though.

Everyone who hasn't checked out the link on that " Spinning " technique ought to

take a look: it may not be a cure for 4S but it's VERY helpful in dealing with

the negative emotions that often result from it.

resourceful people here. I am deeply grateful to you Dr. for providing

our problem with such a fitting name: Selective Sound Sensitivity Syndrome.

Yesterday, I finally took an action that I had been thinking about doing for a

long time. I started a thread on Steve Pavlina's forums about 4S. My hope is

that by doing so it will make this YAHOO group and other resources about 4S

easier to find for people who do searches such as " I hate gum " and " I am

bothered my sounds " . I am afraid that when people do such searches now there

chances of finding this group are not great. In fact they may find other

information such as on misaphonia which is not fitting to their situation.

raise awareness is to take a look at what I posted in Pavlina's forums and

consider adding your comments to this thread. The livelier the thread is the

more attention it will get from the regular participants in the forums as well

as the search engines. Believe me--I have already had a few people let me know

that they now understand what they are experiencing based on me sharing my story

there. The reason I think that Steve Pavlina's forum is a great place to raise

awareness is that his website is arguably the #1 self-development website in the

world. He gets millions of visitors a month to his site!!! Take a look at his
