Guest guest
Hi everyone, I went for my 8wk post op visit today. My doc is very impressed with how well I'm doing considering the shape I was in before. I explained to him about the low back ache and hip pain I'm having and he says he can't really say if it's something I have to live with . He says that give myself another six months and we will see how things are then. He says because it was 2 major surgeries (detether/Patch sb and then the csf leak fix) that I had to go through it will take time back there to heal up. I do have to keep reminding my self that it's only been 2 months. It's hard when I feel so much better and I just want to do everything at once. He also said that as far as PT goes right now walking is the best thing at least for the next 6 months. No lifting of course and just a little bending he said would be fine. I am still dealing with pain but now it is manageable at least when I take something it works where as before it barely touched it . I have finally got some of my life back I just hope this lasts. I guess I will take what I can get for now. I also wanted to comment on something that was on the list awhile back about weather or not a lamenectomy was considered two surgeries or one. The question was that you have the lamenectomy and the detether is it considered two surgeries or one. I received my billing statement for my surgery and lamenectomy isn't on there but it does list the release of spinal cord and the graft repair of spine defect separate. I was also charged separate $5000.00 each this is just the nsg charge all the anesthesia and hospital was separate. Then there was the charge for the second time he went in to fix the csf leak that was also $5000.00 my husband who is a joker seems to think that I shouldn't have been charged for the csf leak fixed because if you take your car to the shop and have the radiator fixed and it leaks they don't charge you the second time.LOL I had to explain that doctors don't warranty there work. Well just thought I would let every one know so far so good. I also had a question for whoever do any of you have trouble with sitting for any length of time? My left leg goes numb if I sit in a straight up position for more than 20minutes. Thanks for listening!!! Chris
