Not sure I have the refernce  at hand but will lookInstitute of medicine JUSt put out a report- guy from MAIne named Cliff Rosen wrote it VERY help ful  I will look around.  Sorts out alot of the  stuff

Does anyone possess a good reference on the whole vitamin D deficiency issue?  I used the up to date subscription at the local hospital today, but I wasn’t able to print or email the content to an alternate location and I didn’t have time to read the 40 page review of the subject presented to me after my search for Vitamin D deficiency – treatment older adults.  If anyone has any information on this evolving issue I would greatly appreciate it.  If you could email it or fax it to , I would be eternally grateful.  I am trying to figure out how to treat moderately low Vitamin D levels when patients don’t want to pay for the medication prescribed because  it isn’t covered by their plan D plan

There is no evidence that a levels of 40-60 are beneficial. 30 is

plenty. Toxicity starts at 100 but it's hard to get there.
